They steamrolled the Lions with their starters the week before.

In the second half we steamrolled them but you could see signs of shutting it down looking ahead to the playoffs in the first half with our defense giving up 21 points. Our offense played well the entire game but our defense stunk in the first half showing little effort. The way our #1 rush defense was being gashed by the Lions 30th ranked running game was hard to watch. Our D must have gotten a pretty good butt chewing at halftime because we shut them down in the second half.

Some of the backups actually played well.

Our starters didn't look particularly great. They didn't look bad but I didn't think they looked all that sharp and into the game. Dak was 4-4 and wasn't in much of a rhythm when we pulled him. His completion average was only 4.6 which was his lowest all season. Philly was applying a lot of pressure on him forcing him to have some throwaways.

The spin is that I'm saying we're not going to reach the SB because we lost our season finale. I've lost track how many have have claimed I'm saying this and I'm saying that, when I haven't said any of it.
Who am I???show me the quote. Show me the quote where I said that. You accused me of spin. Show me.

I've never said that. I said you like to provoke by being negative. I also wonder what would motivate a Cowboys FAN to do that.

I never claimed you said anything but you and a few others seem to be suggesting that I don't think we can reach the SB because our 8 SB teams won their season finale and our 2016 team didn't. You're not insinuating that? I'm not trying to provoke anyone, that wasn't the purpose of posting the stat. It was merely to point out an interesting fact that many probably weren't aware of but it's gotten under your skin more than anyone else's. Have you noticed that? It seems a lot of things I post get under your skin.

I'll check your posts but several have suggested that I don't think the Cowboys can reach the SB because they lost their season finale and our 8 SB teams didn't. That's what some think I'm trying to say which is ludicrous. If the Cowboys do reach the SB you can bet someone will claim that I said they couldn't reach the SB because they lost their season finale. That's the kind of agenda I have to deal with. lol

This comment shows you don't think I believe the Cowboys have a strong chance to win it all because you always read something negative into my posts. I didn't post for a few weeks during the 2014 season due to an illness in the family and your spin was that I was off the board because I was disappointed in the Cowboys winning streak. All you've been doing lately is questioning my fandom suggesting I'm pulling against the team.

We have a very strong possibility of winning it all. Your negative energy has no bearing on that. You may have to deal with both of these facts.

We will be favorites in all of our remaining games.

No. I have not tried to insinuate that. I'm not sure how you could mean that with some random stat that has absolutely zero correlation to how the Cowboys will play or if they'll win. Considering, as others have stated, the Cowboys wisely took the meaningless game as an opportunity to rest key starters it means even less.

I accept your apology and thank you.

You're accusing others of reading things into your comments???

What, exactly, was the purpose of your original post?

You insinuate a lot of things. Did you not suggest I was off the board for a few weeks in 2014 because the Cowboys were in the middle of a winning streak? Have you not questioned my fandom? Did you not twist a comment a made in another thread to fit an agenda? Did you not suggest I was a sissy ***? You're the one who needs to apologize.

You must be drunk for a fact/stat to get so under your skin you've become insulting and continue to question my fandom. You're the only who continues running around like they have ants in their pants because of a stat. The purpose of the original post was to point out for the 2016 team to reach the SB they're going to have to buck a longstanding trend. It wasn't to be negative or to suggest it can't be done.

Dude, you've questioned my fandom on many occasions with ridiculous suggestions and insinuated that I don't like the team. That's not only laughable but it's about as immature as it gets here. There's a correlation to playing your best football entering the playoffs and reaching the SB, which is what that stat shows. Every team preaches entering the playoffs with momentum, even Garrett was preaching that a couple of weeks ago. I don't think we're playing as good as we were earlier in the season. We lost 3 games all season and 2 of them came in the final 4 games. We lost to the Giants and struggled to hang on against a Tampa team that missed the playoffs.

Our defense looked awful in the first half against Detroit before waking up in the second half and we kissed off the season finale. The only thing I like about our team now compared to the way we were playing in weeks 5-10 is Irving has really come on and could help our pass rush. Again, not saying we can't reach the SB but I was a lot more comfortable with the way we were playing earlier in the season. I'm not trying to be negative, I'm giving an honest opinion and there's those who come here that want to read honest opinions.

Dropping hints, implying and suggesting is insinuation. You haven't come right out and said I wasn't a fan of this team but you've implied several times that I'm not. You said I wasn't around during part of our winning streak in 2014 "suggesting" I was disappointed the team was playing well. lol You claimed a few days ago in this thread that I haven't been posting very much this season continuing to "imply" that I'm disappointed the team is having a great season which is ridiculous. I've posted more this season than any other, not having missed a day of posting all season. My posting history will back it up and expose the agenda you have but you continue to imply that I'm pulling against the team. I can't help that you're homer and homer views are all you want to read. I try to be informative and have posted many things this season that favor the team and some things that don't including having a rookie QB. If you have an issue with those who give honest, objective opinions put them on ignore. There's plenty of homers here who point out all the good and stay away from anything that appears negative. If you think they have a clue what's going on buy into their views.

FANS here get upset with anything I post that doesn't favor the team because they know my posting history has been virtually dead on and they panic every time I post something they deem negative. If the Cowboys get knocked off in the playoffs it will have more to do with having a rookie QB having to challenge QBs that have a lot of playoff/SB experience. There's 3 QBs that are in the NFC playoffs that have 4 SB wins between them. Many FANS here will tell you that doesn't mean anything because what they did in the past doesn't mean ****. If the Giants defense steps up and shuts down a hot Aaron Rodgers at Lambeau which is a possibility with the cold weather conditions not favoring the passing game and we have to face them we're going to be in trouble. Dak's had his two worst games against the Giants defense. If their pass rush gets anymore fierce than what we've seen, gosh help us because that's how they ended up in the SB in 2007 and 2011. They'll stack the box to stop Zeke and put the game on Dak and pin their ears back. We have to avoid 3rd and longs, that's when Dak has struggled especially against the Giants. Sacks and penalties will put us behind the chains and play right into the hands of their defense. They don't have a high powered offense, so they keep games close and beat teams in the 4th quarter, that's always been Giants football dating back to Parcells.

If Rodgers carves up the Giants defense for 3-4 TD's and we have to face him in perfect dome conditions, Dak may have to out duel Rodgers in a shootout and he's likely to get shot down. Rodgers won his only championship in our stadium gunning down Roethlisberger. Zeke is going to have to run wild because rookie QB's have failed in the playoffs mainly because games were put in their shoulders and they crumbled under playoff pressure. Teams have figured Dak out which is why he ran into some struggles and his numbers came down the final month. Pressure and long down situations have given him problems because we have a short middle of the field passing game that relies heavily on Witten and Beasley moving the chains. We have a ball control offense that chews up the clock. Defenses want to put Dak in situations where he has to go down the field and they can come after him. Philly was starting to do that to him on Sunday and he took a big shot on one play. We MUST stay in manageable downs and distances if we're going to survive with a rookie QB in the playoffs. Come back to this post in a few weeks and see if wasn't on the right page.
