I will never understand it.
LatinMind;1348584 said:norv is just as qualified asanybody thats available. maybe u guys should thorw more of your hate to the guy who put dallas in this spot. bill parcells.
summerisfunner;1348582 said:you guys are straying from the topic, what has Norv done, that makes you confidant? I dont' want to hear some baseless conjecture, or comparisons to coaches, Norv could be the next Belichick, or the next Dave Campo for all we know
so again, what has Norv ever done as a HC?
jgboys1;1348598 said:I DO NOT want Turner here, I think it is a big mistake bringing him in, but if JJ hires him I will root for him and hope he has a great career as the Dallas Cowboys head coach, but I doubt it.I hope I am wrong about Turner.
JPM;1348602 said:Why is it Bill's fault ? Did you really want Cameron or Wisenhunt ?
LatinMind;1348605 said:without an baised opinion. atleast try. can u say that norv has actually had a legit shot with the previous teams he's coached to form anything? ask yourself that.
LatinMind;1348608 said:i wanted cameron
summerisfunner;1348611 said:has he been in some rough spots? yes
has he done anything about it? not much, so if he can't make a bad team signifcantly better, how is he going to do that w/ us?
BrAinPaiNt;1348606 said:Well I think many of us feel the same way.
I just figured I would get all of my whining or complaining out now.
However I am sure there will be plenty that keep it up no matter what happens.
I just still find it odd that the ones that blamed and ragged on bill the most, are the ones that are defending Norv here now. Talk about a drop off in logic.
BrAinPaiNt;1348613 said:I would rather of had LT and Gates.
He was the HEAD coach, was he not?LatinMind;1348605 said:without an baised opinion. atleast try. can u say that norv has actually had a legit shot with the previous teams he's coached to form anything? ask yourself that.
LatinMind;1348614 said:did he have any kind of situation that u think he could have called his own shots? to make them "better". or were things pushed on him by his previous employers?
summerisfunner;1348618 said:uh, in Washington he had alot of say in personnel decisions
superpunk;1348617 said:He was the HEAD coach, was he not?
He made some terrible decisions on TOP draft picks in Washington, did he not?
His teams were talented, and underachieved every year.
Do you people just block out how much fun it was to face the Skins every year under Norv?
LatinMind;1348621 said:prove it
What does that even mean? When we played the Commanders this year, were you not aware that Gibbs was on the sideline? When we were dominating Spurrier, were you not aware of him? Norv is a bad coach. That is noticable, no matter what you're focusing on.LatinMind;1348623 said:when dallas plays washington or any of team. i think about the game. not whos walking the sidelines. thats just me tho. i like the football game aspect.
CounterTrey said:Just a clarification here and then I'll go back to watching you guys abuse each other.
Michael Westbrook and Heath Shuler weren't picked for Turner and forced on him, they were his coveted picks that he was the driving force behind. He was so excited about Shuler in fact (Shuler was taken over Casserly's choice Dilfer at Norv's urging) that he told the press that he'd stake his career and reputation on it.
Furthermore it's a complete myth that he had talent voided teams in Washington. The ONE year he did anything in 1999 he had a record setting scoring offense who broke the league record(only to see the Rams break it further) his teams still choked in amazingly embarassing fashion. Game after game after game they snatched defeat from the jaws of Victory.
So save yourselves some grief and don't buy into the notion that Turner was hamstrung with talent in DC. Nothing could be furhter from the truth. If this was true he'd get cut a LOT more slack than he is. the reason his tenure was so maddening for Skins fans is BECAUSE his teams were so talented and underachieving
