All Is Well, We Brought Jerome Long Back...***Bass likely going to IR***

Spencer's timetable was opening night, so that remains to be seen, yes Ratliff didn't come back on time, but there was a setback in his rehab, so that's not really on him. Who else could you cite to smear our training staff's rep?

Not sure where you saw me smearing our training staff, it just seems to me the time tables that are put out there tend to be overly optimistic, like with:

Livings
Ratliff
Spencer
Claiborne
Johnson

he did say if they multiply it by three, which means he foes from 2-4 to 6-12 weeks...I think he was trying to make a joke and just failed..but eh...who really knows these days

I don't think he failed to deliver his joke at all. I think some failed to catch the joke.

We're talking about the dropoff between Ben Bass to Jerome Long here, for context. Not even that, really, since Long won't get all of the snaps Bass would have gotten anyway. It's significant, but it's not going to be the end of the world.
So we're garbage either way?

They should put bass on short term IR . That means he could come back week 10 ( I believe ) . Putting him on season ending IR is stupid for a 4 week injury .

ESPN's Todd Archer is reporting they'll likely IR Bass...

"To make room for Long,Ben Bass, who dislocated his left shoulder in Thursday’s practice, is expected to be placed on injured reserve. A source indicated Bass would miss at least a month with the injury. It’s the second time in two seasons Bass has ended up on injured reserve."

Too bad, gone for the season I guess, since can't see them using the one time rule to pull him back.

So we're garbage either way?

I guess that depends what you think of both Bass and Long. What I was saying is that we're replacing a player most has reasonably low expectations for with another player most have reasonably low expectations for. I liked Ben Bass quite a bit, for what his role was on the team, but his role was to be a rotational player along a DL full of rotational players.

2nd straight year IR for Bass,i highly doubt he will play for the cowboys again.

According to Archer's article, Bass is expected to be out a month, yet the Cowboys don't want to use the "designation to return" on him. So a 4 week injury is going to end his season? I don't understand this. There's at least 2 or 3 guys on this team that are dead weight who we should cut ahead of placing Bass on IR.
