All Is Well, We Brought Jerome Long Back...***Bass likely going to IR***

They should put bass on short term IR . That means he could come back week 10 ( I believe ) . Putting him on season ending IR is stupid for a 4 week injury .

1. This may not really be a 4 week injury.

2. if it is, I can't see why we don't use the short term IR. It is pointless to "save" that spot. Either way you are making an extra spot on your roster.

Crap couldn't we put him on PUP (6weeks ) instead of IR ?

This is a dumb move ! >_<
We had good depth with Crawford , bass , lissemore now it's all gone before the season . Geez

I can only assume they envision this shoulder being troublesome for the balance of the season.

Listeining to Talking Cowboys earlier today, they mentioned this isn't the first time he has had shoulder issues. At least I think that is what they said.

He can't go on the PUP because he was active during the preseason.

Johnson - day to day - IR
Ratliff - Hamstring being cautious - PUP
Spencer - 2-4 weeks - not close to coming back
Bass - 2-4 weeks - IR

What is going on here? I understand they aren't going to disclose everything, but this is ridiculous.

Wait, season-ending IR for a 4 week injury? I'm confused. I thought Bass had upside.

this is standard MO for our front office, dont trust them on their prognosis.

If this is the case then these guys are lying about this and many other injuries. Someone in the media should call these guys on this.

2-4 weeks was the original projection. That was before he got an MRI.

I'm just speculating here but that seems a reasonable explanation. Could very well be that the media doesn't have this information

I had a separated shoulder. It took me over a year to rehab it and I am a pretty athletic guy who actually did the rehab on it. He would not have had the strength to do much of anything at DT this season if his injury was anything like mine. This is the only move the club could have made IMHO.

We probably need him more in 2014. We could lose Hatcher, Ratliff, and Hayden next year. By the time he is ready this season, Ratliff will be healthy.

Edit: I'm wrong we have Hayden under contract in 2014.

So before our 1st game, we have now 7 players on season ending IR. Johnson, Crawford, Bass, Livings, Albright, Cook, Frampton. lol. Add Ratliff to that list soon enough after coming back from pup.

We have some bad diagnosticians then.

Something isn't right.

Must have been a bad one. Nephew had one last year, missed a month of high level hockey.

Where the hell does it say that he's going on IR? I only see it in the title.

Not really. More likely an initial best-case-scenario projection that the media ran with

He could have had rotator cuff damage and if he has surgery for that it is at least 6 months.
