Woodson had 112 tackles, 4 Interceptions, and 1 sack this season.

While not world-beating, those are pretty decent numbers for a 38 year old DB.

Impact/probowl player but All Pro? That's name recog all the way or some stray homer. Will admit I was surprised by those numbers you posted though. Def HOFer too. EDIT: just took another look @ the other S's included and there aren't exactly all world players on that list so you have a point.

I'm guessing some voters think he's good only because of his line, Romo and the other weapons on the team.
They use any kind of excuse to not give us our props. You never hear those clarifyers when they talk about other good teams position players.

It's probably the same 5 or 6 confused voters who are responsible every year, Gosselin has to be one of them.
Some of it is just bizarre in that it's so easy to fix. I mean, how hard is it to have them pick from a list or a drop-down for each position, so that Watt only appears in one place?

There's something messed up here with the All Pro team. Zach Martin is now a rookie ALL PRO!

Yet I see at least 6 guys being touted as ROY ahead of him. Three WR, a DT and an ILB. I even saw the rookie CB for the Bears (Fuller I think) who got roasted every time I saw a QB go after him on the list.

How can a rookie get ALL PRO votes and not be ROY? How is that possible?

The ROY discussion should include only Martin, Beckam and Donald. I'd be fine with either of those 3 players winning.

It's like trying to win MVP and you don't play a skill position. It is what it is.

All Pro is the better distinction anyway.

Great awards for the players, they are well deserved. I'm surprised Martin is getting so much recognition, I mean WE know he's great, but it's still surprising to see the media give a big nasty his dues (especially a rookie). Also while it's nice Romo was 2nd team, it's a complete joke Romo was outvoted 44-3, I think that's pretty telling in the bias against him.

It's all about style points and exposure. Showing OBJ making an awesome catch once in a while is more exciting than watching Martin steadily dominate his guy play after play. there is nothing "cool" about watching an offensive lineman do his job. Is it fair? No. But it is what it is.

I personally believe that there really isn't an argument to be made against the opinion that Martin is the best player out of last year's draft. Doesn't matter though since being named All-Pro and being an essential piece of a playoff team trumps winning ROY while sitting at home on your couch.
