Emmitt's injury left us one dimensional and Aikman threw the ball more and took a ton of hits because of that and having a lesser player at tackle.

But why should I expect the truth to impact you?

(witih jerry in charge)

btw don't lump stephen in with jerruh.

I am in my mid 30's and have watched my team win the Superbowl 3 times .....

My Uncle by marriage is in his 50's ....... he is from Philly ....... guess what?
:D

Jerry has not disappointed me as a owner or Gm.

ONE coach did it once.... not 500.

the next few guys failed miserably so he was dead wrong.

i followed the boys before Jerruh was involved and i expect to be following them long after. ;)

after switzer won the superbowl, in effect w/FA and overall team player movement, it could be argued that it wasn't the same team anymore.

so what difference does it make?

no doubt this is a prime example of the mindset of a jerry proponent.

you can shut all of us who pass on jerry's cool-aid up with a superbowl victory.

10 years and counting for a playoff victory though so don't hold your breath and keep sippin' the cool-aid and smokin' nate's funny stuff if needed ;)

Someone explain to me the condition that makes you feel so much pain from rooting for a team, yet you keep doing it...and of course, keep whinning about it on the internet.:lmao2:

yup.. and 500 coaches could pilot us to a superbowl according to jerruh.

sad to have to break this out

What's sad is you had to drag out something stupid that Jerry said TEN YEARS ago...

And BTW, a perfectly mediocre coach DID coach the Boys to a Super Bowl with that talent, so Jerruh was RIGHT...

All the more reason for the owner NOT to start trying to coach this team again like he did back before Parcells came in and got the ship headed in the right direction.

You have zero evidence that he's doing anything of the sort... at least, you've offered no evidence thus far...

Rather, you're ASSUMING that's what he's gonna do... and again, you have no concrete reasons for coming to that conclusion, all you have is your semi-paranoid fear that he'll turn back into the old Jerry...

But there might well have been another 499 coaches as good as, or better than, Barry Switzer...

the next few guys failed miserably so he was dead wrong.

By then, the talent wasn't what it was at the time Jerry said that...

Now, it was silly of him to say 500 coaches could coach the time, IIRC he was pretty loaded when he threw that one out there...

Dallas' situation isn't a full blown rebuilding project like most head coaching hires enter.

This is a team with talent on both sides of the ball, that is young, and just needs that spark to take that next step...with all our warts we were better than Seattle, who gave the Bears all they could handle, who beat the Saints, so one could argue we were a botched hold away from a SB right now.

With Jerry always willing to write checks, a hungry Romo and defense with something to prove, I can't think of a better situation to walk into...regardless of having Garrett in the wings.
So to re-cap:

Whoever comes to Dallas has Super Bowl expectations on them right away. No grace period.

They're expected, through sheer force of will and coaching, to take an already talented team and get more out of them. But, despite this, they can't pick their own staff or even sit in on the interviews for their own coordinators.

And the owner already has a very clear hard-on for the guy who is already lined up to be the next coach.

Yeah, I can't think of any better situation to walk into either. Unless maybe OJ Simpson is looking to get re-married, or Dick Cheney is looking for a new hunting buddy.

Yeah, I'm sure they'd all love to pick their complete staff as coach of the Cardinals or Raiders over not picking their OC here.

And we know the proposed coaches haven't been in the loop, how?

I'm sure Norv is just hating having the guy that taught the revolving door back-up QBs the offense on his staff.

Sure, Beav. We can build downhill racers, visit the ol' swimming hole, sip lemonade on the front porch, and listen to Bing Crosby records on the Victrola. Actually, that sounds pretty gay. Scratch that.
