Dak had a great oline for about two years and that is it. Once frederick went down and Tyron started missing games every year the Oline has been mediocre. And then of course he has had the horrid Zeke the last 4 years being featured.

Aikmans lines were much much better. Only line that compares to Aikmans was Daks rookie year in 2016.
So in your tiny puny little brain....dak gets a pass for a "horrid o line"

But zeke does not.

This...people..is PURE unadulterated zeke hatred.

I think roy might be a bama fan STILL very mad about zeke running it up bama behinds and out the other side.

Don't care about passing percentages.

Romo will never surpass Staubach, Aikman, and White.

Romo is a footnote who never accomplished what other Cowboys QBs have done.

Dak is on the same path as Romo....a never was.
A never was what? We don't know that yet.

What we do know is that #4 is coming into year eight...we get to watch this movie a few more times to see what #4 does. It's going to be a repeat of the last seven years.

No soup for you...his friend took off with all the food, now he is homeless...trying to find a job.

All of this stuff is cool, but it does not mean a thing this coming season. Someone put in some numbers, and then other numbers are left out because it means nothing in the long run. Statistics...

But I get the intention of this post. As a Cowboy fan I've seen what we have at QB.
Well you’re blinded by your hate.

Zeke was a great RB but is now washed up. There’sa reason no one has signed him.

For as good as Troy COULD be, man, he had some stinkers too. I rewatched the 1996 panthers playoff game….I get they were down Irvin, but Troy threw some horrible picks in that game, cost the team.

For some reason some fans don’t seem to realize those QB’s played during different eras. You have younger fans who think Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman weren’t that good based on their career yards and TDs. I’ve seen QB polls on this board with fans ranking Tony Romo as the greatest Cowboys QB based strictly on his career numbers.
And you have Cowboys fans that forget that one of Roger Staubach's nicknames was "Roger the dodger" because he could actually run the football even though he wasn't built like a running back.

I've never lived in Texas, but to me the #1 QB for Dallas has always been Roger Staubach and #2 will always be Troy Aikman.

Football IS a team sport, and that includes the coach as well. Ironically enough, Landry and Johnson are my top two as well. For myself, they made the Cowboys what they are.

Pass protection is the issue here, not run blocking. Tony Pollard has excelled the past two years behind the same line Zeke struggled with.

This is not Zeke hate, it's a recognition that the heavy workload has caught up to him. I appreciate Zeke as much as any Cowboys fan but there just is not much tread left on his tires. And 31 other teams see that as well because he's now been available for over three weeks and nobody has even bothered to visit with him yet.

Why did you take this take?
Fun fact. Others seemed to have found it fun as well.

Cedric did blow a fourth down pass that was there to be had. Pulled it down and ran it instead. He had his choice of two guys to throw to. Don't know what was up with that.

Pollard was quick enough to run away from the terrible run blocking.

This is true. When Aikman had great protection and receivers he could trust there was not a more accurate passer in the history of football. In my opinion Aikman is still the most mechanically sound quarterback ever.

But the beatings his body took early in his career made him age early. Then the talent around him in Dallas started to deteriorate. By late in his career Troy was an immobile pocket passer that, as much as I hate to say it, was living off reputation. In that 1996 season Aikman was named to the Pro Bowl with 12 TD passes and 13 interceptions. Yes, it was a different era, but let that sink in.

The NFL today is not the same league it was, nor are the stats...
"1993:Not intentional grounding rule: It is not intentional grounding when a passer, while out of the pocket and facing an imminent loss of yardage, throws a pass that lands beyond the line of scrimmage, even if no offensive player has a realistic chance to catch the ball (including if the ball lands out of bounds over the sideline or end line).
1995: Throwing QB down rule: When tackling a passer during or just after throwing a pass, a defensive player is prohibited from unnecessarily and violently throwing him down and landing on top of him with all or most of the defender’s weight.

2002: helmit to helmit rule: It is illegal to hit a quarterback helmet-to-helmet any time after a change of possession.

2006: Low hit rule: Low hits on the quarterback are prohibited when a rushing defender has an opportunity to avoid such contact.

2007: Illegal cut block rule: A block below the waist against an eligible receiver while the quarterback is in the pocket is a 15-yard penalty instead of a 5-yard penalty.

2009: Defenseless receiver hit rule: It is an illegal hit on a defenseless receiver if the initial force of the contact by the defender’s helmet, forearm, or shoulder is to the head or neck area of the receiver. Penalty: 15 yards.

2009: Clarified rule regarding low hits on passers: A defender cannot initiate a roll or lunge and forcibly hit the passer in the knee area or below, even if he is being contacted by another player."
NFL has promoted more passing and touchdowns through the rules. This more than anything has changed the stats and inflated players ratings.

Packers are on par probably…. Starr, Favre, Rodgers. 7 championships (5 of them Superbowls).
When Rodgers goes HOF (and he is a lock) GB will have four HOF QBs. Arnie Herber who was the QB during the Don Hutson era has been in the HOF since 1966 which I believe was the second class ever.

Every time this moronic argument and thread comes up I have to point out a few inconvenient facts. 1) Staubach didnt really even start his career until age 29. 2) He really only played a total of 8 years. He lost all but one game of the 1972 season due to a should injury. 3) During those 8 years he won two SBs, 4 NFCCGs and 13 total playoff games. 4) It was open season on QBs and WRs all but one year of his career. When you consider all that, his accomplishments are mind bogging and the concussions he took shortened his career. Now that I have brought up these inconvenient FACTS please stop with the idiotic, feel good, basketball on grass stats. You are embarrassing yourselves.
