Am I the only one still upset over the Ware release?

To say that with Ware we haven't won anything is completely idiotic. So say the same about Romo and Witten then. So guys like Dan Marino, Barry Sanders, Steve Largent, Junior Seau, Dick Butkus, Earl Campbell, Bruce Smith, Jim Kelly, Brian Urlacher, Kellen Winslow, ect. where all worthy of getting cut at the age of 31 because they never won a Super Bowl? And I am not allowed to call you names? Think again.......If I have learned anything in the past couple of years its if someone says or does something dumb than its ok to call them out on it.

you are taking my post way out of context for the sake of your argument. but do what makes you feel good.
ps.. stop projecting.

My quote....
he's making more money this year, and is on a contender.
I love the idea of a legacy player being retained, but we haven't won anything with him, and probably wasn't going to.
Both sides get a chance to do what is greatly needed.... cowboys, rebuilding the defense/cap relief, Ware a chance to win a Super Bowl immediately.
Good luck to the warrior.

Where do you see a comment that Ware hasn't won anything? Would I use terms like "legacy" & "warrior" to describe someone I was criticizing??!??....... It was a comment on his time here, not him as a player or his skill.
Again, you need to relax..., and understand not everyone online is attempting to bait you for combat, or an argument.

I know people around these parts can't stand Skip Bayless, but he made an excellent point on First Take when discussing the Broncos' acquisition of Ware and Talib...

He and I both agree that the last time that Ware made an IMPACT play was during the 2009 season at New Orleans when Ware and the Cowboys ended the, at then, perfect season of the Saints. I can't remember the last time Ware made a crucial, game changing play since then.

Ware being gone means this team can being the healing process.

Ware's a great guy, but I'm not mad at him being let go. His recent performance versus what he was getting paid simply wasn't matching up, and age-wise, he is on the wrong end of the spectrum.

so again you iso my post just for your argument?... as you like....
you can think whatever you like at this point.

good luck on creating arguments out thin air.

Guy had 3 different injuries....forget it.....6 sacks, you better get used to Mincey and Crawford combining for 4

Yeah he can't stay healthy anymore, no thanks.

The draft hasn't even come yet tonto, Donald, Ford, and several others can easily produce more sacks than that.

It's not about one guy getting them all

I'm personally not upset about it, but I know many of the people I work with have been.

When I ask them why, their responses always give me a chuckle. "He's the best defensive player on our team!" "He's a beast, we should've payed him the money!" "Our defense will suck without Ware!" Mind you, some of these people also said Miles is better then Dez, and that Tim Tebow (big Tebow fan) is better then Romo and would take us to the playoffs. I love my workplace, it's always good for a morning laugh when discussing the 'Boys.

I'm personally not upset because I think it was just time to part ways. Sure, the career he has had with us has been outstanding, and he's a HoFer no doubt. But, the amount of money he was asking was far to egregious considering the Cowboys cap and his production over the past 2 years. I understand there's a business side to football and because of this at times you will lose players you really become attached to, it really does stink.

At least he went to the Broncos with Peyton Manning, he'll fit right. #classy

Your workplace represents perfectly the "average" fan base. I know there is some ridiculesness in here sometimes but it exposes all of us to what's goin on and the realities of the team.

Everybody in the Zone generally accepts we could simply not pay Demarcus that kind of money at his age. I'm sure the average Chiefs fan was upset with Tony Gonzales being gone but that's the reality of the NFL.

Not upset anymore. This team sooner or later had to stop paying vets top dollars when there production doesnt warrant it. It was a move in which both sides won.

OP, I feel your pain... losing someone like Ware is a tremendous shot to my fandom, though it is not a fatal blow. I do care deeply about the players I root for, I am not like most of the frontrunners on this board who would trade our entire roster for the Seahawks roster just so a team with star on its helmet can win. The journey you take with the players, especially for the ones who have become synonymous with the team, is an important one for me.

But as I said, you tend to get over it and I still like a lot of guys who are left. The fact that things seem to end in a way that was positive for Ware and the Cowboys makes me feel better. I survived Emmitt in a Cardinals jersey. Mark Aguirre in a Pistons jersey. Ruben Sierra traded to the A's. The season will start and you will feel better, you will start to attach yourself to the new guys.

I'm still upset about it also. Him and Dez are my favorite players and I hate to see him go. And it's pretty sad how everyone "expert", including Jerry Jones thinks he's severely declining. The dude was injured... It happens, regardless of age. And in his first 4 games, before he got injured, he had 4 sacks and an interception. For any Mavericks fans out there, look at Dirk Nowitzki last season. He averaged 17 points per game during an injury season... and every "expert" said that he was done and he's washed up. So what's he doing this season? He's averaging 21.5 points per game, shooting nearly 50/40/90% (one of his most efficient season ever), made the allstar team, and is gonna get the Mavs back in the playoffs. I guarantee Ware gets at least 12 sacks and makes the pro bowl for Denver next season. When Jerry was negotiating with Ware I bet he was asking Ware to take way less than what he got from Denver (10mill/year)... And I do agree his original salary of 12.5mill/year (or whatever it was) was too high, but Ware probably would've taken the same deal Denver offered him from us. And it's sad that Jerry thinks he's being a good GM and making the "right decision for business" by letting Ware go. And for people saying it was good because we're rebuilding... well I got news for ya... as long as Romo is our quarterback, we aren't rebuilding.

I seriously doubt Ware was completely against returning to Dallas. We basically pushed him right out the door. It's a shame that we did that to one of the greatest Cowboys of all time... makes me sick to my stomach.

Dallas never even made him an offer. He even went back after the Denver offer and they still didn't offer anything. That tells me they were ready to move on.

He did a great job here - hate to see him go, but he had to decide if he wanted to stay or get more money and have a shot at a SB - can't blame him.

You have to separate personal feelings from a business decision..it was the correct business decision

Ware made his business decision. Jerry grew a pair and did the same this yr. Right choice. Dallas wouldve been in the same spot next yr when he was going to count almost 20 mil
