Amari Cooper connection to Linehan

He's 24 years old and played last year on one foot. Before last year he put up two 1000 yard seasons in a row. Then had over 200 in one game vs KC last year. The foot killed his stats yet he never complained about it, and played through it.
What's your suggestion???? Do nothing right? Keep drafting low level guys and signing guys like Thompson, Butler, and Hearns?

Look, until we have a QB, its not going to matter who plays WR. Our WRs are open. The Qb can't see them. Not sure how Cooper solves that problem.

If we must upgrade WR and Cooper is the guy, I sure as heck don't won't to give up the first round pick Gruden wants plus a huge contract extension.

The problem with Cooper is that he and Carr are just not on the same page. He's open and doesn't get targeted, he's covered and Carr forces it, there's a bad throw, then a drop, etc etc. It's the same thing as Dak and Dez last year. I'm not sure that Cooper could be any better in Dallas than he is now, but he is one of the best at getting open quickly, and that would work with Dak a lot better than Dez did, in theory.

I have zero interest in trading for a reciever mid season.....Carr is a much better QB than Dak is and you better be damn sure he's an upgrade at 14 million a year and at 17% targets are drops before you start throwing away more high draft picks on another receiver that has failed in the past(Galloway - Williams), twice!! ....Mack wanted out and a new contract which Oakland wasn't going to give him...

Keep the first rounder they want and draft a WR that doesn't suck.

Calvin Johnson is the only WR with any sort of connection to Linehan that we should be contacting. Just like Garrett, Linehan has never maximized anybody that cant get by on more than their own talent.

Because Oakland is a **** organization.

And they know they can get a quality draft pick out of him, because he's a good offensive weapon.

The Raider's declined his option year. Not sure what that means in a trade. Your statement reminded me of that and brought up an honest question. If a team trades a player after declining his option year, what happens to that option year? Can the team that obtained him accept it after its been declined? Does it automatically get picked up? Does the original decline trade with the player? I am really not sure. Just asking in case someone knows.

Either way you are right I would not give up a high pick for him at 1 year and 14 million or if he becomes a FA after the season.

We have Gallup. He's proving to be a very good receiver. We don't need another receiver. We need a QB to keep his eyes down field that sees Gallup sprinting past the coverage.

nice though but I keep seeing our own current guys get open like on the Fumble 6 Gallup was breaking big WO and Dak just hesitates and then runs other players were open and hes not seeing them or not having time or throws short etc..the lines not helping, Point is Amari might be waste here at the current time.fix line first get Dak comfy second then we can figure this out..Too bad Tfred isn't back yet as he could play C and move looney to LG and use Williams for depth..

I don't know what is going on with some of these comments about how bad Cooper is. This guy is a bona fide play maker. He is one of the best route runners in the league which Dak loves. Cooper gets separation like a snap of the fingers. Let's say he drops the ball alot. We had a guy like that before , his name was Terrell Owens are you telling me because he drops that ball alot that he was a scrub or bum. You have to account for a guy like that because of his speed. Not his combine speed his game speed. Look at the tape. The other thing I absolutely LOVE about Cooper his he goes over the middle with no fear. Dak would live this kid. I'd give a first round pick for him because he is only 24 but with conditions. Is he injured? Has he had an injury that would impact his career? Any off field baggage? If none of these apply why has his play declined? How is he in the locker room? On the top 100 players he seemed quiet. He seemed quiet at Alabama. He is probably just a quiet to himself guy. He was a top 100 player. He he can answer these questions positively for us then I would give a first round pick for him but ONLY a first round, none of our players. Cooper alongside Gallup would be awesome. It would open up things for beasley these things would loosen up the fronts and attention we've faced to the run game. Cooper would change everything for the better single handedly.
