I have no problem with this trade. Cooper is a first round talent. He's immediately the best WR we have on the team. I've been saying since before the first game, this team has a chance if they can hover around .500 all year and then get hot in mid-November or December. The defense is improved and will be good, if not great when healthy. I have no idea whether or not Fredrick will return, but if the OL doesn't get its act together, this season is toast....we don't have a QB who can do it on his own, and we don't have a RB who can do that either, though in fairness very few RBs can.

If Cooper comes in and makes a difference, moves the sticks and draws attention from other guys, and if the OL can just solidify a little, we are still a playoff contender. Philly isn't doing much on offense either. Washington is a very good team that the media hasn't followed.

Good post my friend.

I concur. We got our guy.

I hope we continue to win and the pick gets higher and higher.

But a 24 year old Cooper > any WR in the draft over the next few seasons.

Ridley is tearing it up in Atlanta. But he has Ryan, Sanu and Julio. So I doubt any rookie WR has that impact here.

Jerry still thinks the problem is with the WRs.

The problem is Dak.

He can’t throw the football 5 feet.
Actually, he can throw it, but he isn’t reacting well to pressure. No QB does, but I truly thought he would handle it better this year having started 33 games & gone through the tribulations of the last half of last year.

Will Blake Jar Jar give up his #89 jersey number to Amari Cooper to keep this diva happy? Will Dak be benched in favor of Cooper Rush to now make the the Cooper to Cooper connection possible? Just a couple of questions on my mind.

Problem is that we don't "have him for his prime"...………..Its a year and a half rental and then he hits free agency.

If he sucks, we wont resign him...…...if he is awesome, he will want too much money and we wont resign him.

So explain again how exactly do we have him for his prime? Or is the plan to pay him $15-$18 a season on a new deal?

I hope we end up having that problem, that he plays so well he earns a nice contract.

A first round pick? What in the hell of beans and cheese is wrong with this franchise? For a expensive WR who’s really not that great? This is just stupid with a side order of stupid.

Dak's not playing well, but it's reads and recognition that are the problem much more than arm strength. He doesn't have a cannon, but he has easily proven he can throw a deep pass and throw an intermediate route with a little velocity behind it.

When I saw the news I thought, hmmm, be interesting to see how this plays out. Wonder how quickly he’ll be able to actually contribute.

Doesn’t seem like a bad deal if the kid can play.

Then I log onto CZ and see this atrocity of a thread. LOL.
None of y’all even want to see if the kid is worth a 1st. Y’all are just always ready for a reason for “outrage”. Truly funny.

It aint based on nothing, guy has been MIA for 2 years.

As long as Garrett is the head coach does any of this really matter?

We can, but it would surprise me.

Well, I suppose it depends on who's on other rosters, but I do think we can borrow (rob and steal are naughty words, haha) a defencive lad from some other squad's practice squad. That would be a good move to me. Let's see here. Time for me to get a bit outside the box again. Oh, the Vikings have a TE on their practice squad by the name of Cole Hikutini. Yes, he does peak my interest, especially since I reckon we could still use help at TE. That would be a good lad to bring on, I think and exchange for Thompson. Plus, that was a chap I was keen on last year. If we want to be really naughty, the Eagles have a 6'4 290lb DT by the name of WInston (oh, I do like that name) Craig on their PS. Oh that would be absolutely BRILLIANT! Picking him off from their roster and getting a 4th for it as well by getting rid of Thompson. That would be cheeky, wouldn't it?

Dang I want to kill Jerry and Stephen just pissed away a first round pick. I am so sick of stupid trades for overrated WRs. Two first to Seattle a first to Detroit now a first to Oakland that’s 4 first round picks.

Unfrigginbelievable! Cooper will not help this poorly constructed offense one iota! :banghead:

This is beyond comprehension, I could see maybe a 3rd but this is insanity. Heaven help us, we are being led by morons......

I'm suggesting it for after the season. Not now, but, let's face it, after the season, I think we will likely be wanting to part ways from him, no? If we are, then I suggested that seeing what Gruden would want to do about him. He's a big proponent of experienced players, and I think he'd love to have Lee AFTER the season. So, my logic was that now that the Raiders have 3 firsts, maybe see if we can get one back for Lee after the season.
Teams know that we will eventually fold and release the player. Look around the league, you see teams get a mid-round pick for veterans all the time. Whenever we get to that stage with one of our veterans, we always release the player.

What's stupid is the fact they thought they could salvage this season. They could have used the first to draft a WR and sign an FA besides that as well. I'm hoping this works out but I don't think our problem is at WR. But again, I could be wrong.
