An interesting similarity to the Giants 9-7 Super Bowl team

I honestly don't think that we are going to go very far should we make the playoffs....are division is our only way in. But in that year the Giants traveled to New Orleans fresh off of two straight losses. The Saints proceeded to blow them out 49-24. The Giants followed it up the next week with a loss to the Packers to fall to 6-6. They then won 3 out of their next 4 and went on their super bowl run.

In the NFL strange things happen. Lets take the bye week and hopefully get some guys back like Claiborne, Wilcox, and Hatcher. Let D Ware rest the leg up even more. Maybe we get good news that Sean Lee will only miss 3-4 weeks instead of the rest of the season and then lets see where it goes.

If we win against the Giants and are sitting at 6-5 it may not look the best but we would be 4-0 in the division. Offensively lets hope we get something out of the money we are paying Miles Austin and maybe Garrett takes more control of the offense because clearly the Callahan experiment is not working.

I am ready now for all the flaming of how we are nothing like that Giant team etc....We may not be but we can cross the bridge of blowing the team up when we come to it. As for right now we still have a chance to make the playoffs and I will hold out that hope.

That Giant team you speak off, had a defense. We don't.

I do agree. We haven't had Hatcher and Ware on the field at the same time for quite some time though and I would like to see how the d line performs when that is the case.

Just stop.

The Giants were never getting shredded defensively to the tune of 40 first downs in a game and gave up franchise records for total yards twice in three games.
True...but let's face it, as injured as the Giants secondary was that year, it pails in comparison with the enormous amount of injuries the Cowboys defense is dealing with. I think the defense will be better with Wilcox, Hatch (we hope), Claiborne back in the lineup, how much will be the question.

What's it going to be then, eh?

The injuries are a large part of it, but let's be honest...this defense schematically broken.

I have never seen anything like it and it is hard to grasp.

Hey, anything can happen. I like your positive attitude. History would dictate that this won't happen, but no one knows for sure.

I hope so too, but you absolutely have to have Lee in there. He just does way too much.

The defense is very bad, but at least they have somewhat of an excuse - the injuries to their major players and the street people that replaced them. What is the excuse for the offense? They have a healthy QB who seems to be sleep walking. They have their number one RB. They have their number one WR that is targeted infrequently. They have their number one TE. They only lost one OL. What is their excuse for the continued three and out?

Maybe one of the problems of the D is they are on the field so much without a break, which is their own fault, but plus the fault of the O. Romo had some open men but didn't throw to them. The play calling has been terrible, but Romo has the option on changing plays.

I know the strength and conditioning coach is highly rated, but it does seem like we can't EVER keep a relatively healthy team on the field. It also seems like year after year Dallas has more injuries than most teams or just don't know how to compensate for it.

I agree....there is no excuse for the offense. That is why I said maybe Garrett will take over play calling because the Callahan experience isn't working. As bad as Garrett may have been sometimes it was never this bad.

Can we stop with the stupid comparison??? It's like we are always just trying to replicate some other team and always trying to find a silver lining. The reality is this team and coach are just not that good. The defense couldn't fight it's way out of a wet paper bag. The offense? Well run 10 yards and turn and wait for the pass. Sorry those schemes don't win

The Giants also lucked their way to a Super Bowl win, something the Cowboys haven't had much of.

Can Hatcher and Ware play Secondary?
