An Objective opinion: Concerned about Romo

For what it's worth, I was listening to the lunch break and they mentioned in talking with the Cowboys after the game that the Packers not only put a CB & a S on TO, but also tried limit Witten the same way as well as Crayton. Crayton of course lacks the speed to break out & apparently frequently when Romo looked to go to Crayton he had to turn away & look elsewhere. Just seems to me that Romo may have been finding it hard to locate a receiver. BTW: Also believe that INT came on a busted play which brought Witten & TO crossing too close together & thus brought 2 extra defenders into the play; usually less experienced WRs make that mistake. It was also mentioned that Romo might have been throwing to a designated spot on the field rather then to a particular player. .

So if we could trade for Jason Campbell for Romo straight up, should we do it?

Is Romo a really bad QB or just average?

What a troll thread this is by a wolf in sheep's clothing.:(

Romo throws a lot of INTs specifically in the end zone. He also has these "off games" like two to three times a year. To have an off game won't kill you unless you have it in the playoffs.

Just pray he doesn't have them in the playoffs. (or throw those end zone INTs in the playoffs)

I beg your pardon?
I do not consider myselff a trol... but you are entitled to your opinion.

I simply stated my opinion that Romo seems to be making much more mistakes than he should...

Give the Packers D line a little credit last night. If anyone looked off it was our Oline on pass blocking. Romo is fine. The best part about this team is they are going to continue to get better.....and that will be scary!

Ok. I cannot let myself be blinded over a win vs the Pack. Yes it was a huge win, on the road, and a huge win Vs history.

That being said, I wake up today, and cannot deny the eerie feeling. This weird senstation that our QB is making "too (many) mistakes" and that thanks for the great team around him he gets away with it?

Anyone share the feeling?
Three games, three interceptions
Where is the scrambling QB we used to have?
Is the "Romo" magic, when he was not well known, now well studied by opponets fading away?

Is Romo a TRUE QB that will lead us into post season wins?

This are some of the many questions I cannot deny and ask myself?

Any comments guys?

Romo will be just fine.Even if he throws a pic in every game this season,it'll be less than last years total of 19 ints.I'll take that, instead of multiple pics a game(like Buffalo).

You're gonna get the "you're a troll if you question anything the Cowboys do" from some in this crowd. I personally would not take any other QB in the league. My only concern is he or the coaching staff may be tweeking things a bit much. He seemed to take off and run when things got tight, and get those 1st downs and out of trouble more last year. I want Tony to be Tony not a mimic of some other QB. They were calling it happy feet when he got in a pinch. Seems to me he more times than not destroyed teams when he got out of the pocket and improvised. I personally like the gunslinger attitude, but when you've got the ability to cut loose and get a few yards when you get in trouble, cut loose.

Romo give us huge play after huge play. You aren't going to get that from a QB that plays scared or doesn't throw the ball into tight places.

You want the exciting Romo that is setting records left and right? Then take the occasional mistakes and roll with it. We are 3-0 and the team absolutely loves Tony Romo and always feels like they can win any game or overcome any obsticle with him. That's what he gives you.

Romo is now 13-2 in his 15 road games. That is what he gives you.

If you expect an exciting QB to play mistake free in 16 games... you simply aren't being reasonable.

Romo is the man and there are about 30 NFL teams that would kill to have him.

That about sums it up!

Maybe you would rather wake up an Eagle or Steeler today or any day.
We won, nobody is perfect. Are You???????? Did you get up on the wrong side of the bed, see everyone makes mistakes, take the good with the bad....

The fact that I have my doubts does not mean I despise Romo.

But I do think that it is valid to question if he is for real... a "franchise" QB.

Question is... do you guys think that he will reach the status of Aikman and Staubach?

Does he have the tools? Yes he does.

Will he ever reach that status? Only time will tell. Until then, I'll settle on what the magic 8 ball tells me.

Where are you HighTechDave?

A few things HAD to have happened last night...Receivers were running the wrong routes which will happen from time to time I guess.

That endzone INT, blame squarely on Romo but Witten and TO were both in the same spot and that never happens on routes...Somebody screwed up there...Of course, the ball never should've been thrown in the first place.

He made some nice throws last night but he also made some very poor decisions...He forced the ball maybe only once last night but otherwise took two intentional grounding penalties and took sacks where he didn't need to...There were at least 4 plays of those variety where he simply made poor decisions, IMHO...Worse yet, they weren't in succession so it was as if he learned nothing from each mistake as the game went on.

I'm not 'worried' about Tony but I am disappointed in his decision making last night...Hurt the team several times last night which is not characteristic of him.

Parcells would have had a heart attack on the sideline watching him force the ball to Witten in triple coverage.

The guys on the radio seem to think that was TO's fault, running the wrong route and dragging his two cover guys with him.

There WAS NOT very good pass protection last night - I don't care what anyone says. Most of the time Romo makes the first rusher miss and gets away to throw the pass. Not last night, he would make the first miss just in turn to run into another. He is just not used to that at all. That caused his fumble and his 2 grounding penalties.

I think Clevland played the same coverage in week 1 and got little to no pressure on Romo. Last night they would drop 7 in coverage and Romo did not have time to wait for an open WR most of the time!

All QBs have sub-par games. It happens. I've seen bad decisions by Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, and back in the day from Aikman, Young, and Montana.

The position is too difficult to never screw up and play flawless all the time.

The good news is that our team is solid enough to overcome these things and win their games. It is still September, and we are by no means a perfect, finished product.

Took sacks when he did not need to? When.

You can't have it both ways because if he does not wait for the open WR like Austin when he had to move up in the pocket then he throws the ball away so he does not take a sack "when he does not need to".

Double edged sword - which do you want?

I agree that the ball should never have been thrown in that situation.

That's the way it looked to me too. However, BOTH guys were being double covered. The ball should have thrown elsewhere.
