His red zone problems started in preseason (see game vs. Houston where he had another red zone INT). I actually dread when we have the ball inside the 20 and he drops back to pass. I would much rather he bomb it from far away, like he did with Miles last night.

I think he struggles with reading coverages in tight spaces. The end zone obviously forces a lot of bodies in a smaller area, and he seems to struggle sometimes when we're inside the 20.

His strength is reading coverages quickly and buying time with his feet. In the red zone, that's not as big an advantage with the field compressed. That might be the problem. Throwing into double coverage should be easy enough for him to avoid. The fumbles are likely the result of him trying to do too much.

Why doesn't this team run more slants? TO used to be devastating on those routes. Crayton and Hurd could run them well, too. I don't recall us running too many of them the last two years, but they seem like they'd be effective plays for us inside the 20s.

Unbelievable. We look like, hands down, the best team in all of football right now... and people complain. Not just nitpicking either... they truly seem to feel like doom is right on the horizon.

I'm going to stop even reading this stuff, I think.

Let me be clear. We're over-delivering on my expectations so far this year. And I love Tony Romo.

I just happen to think his poor decisions in the red zone this week deserve more attention to the supposedly weak defensive showing against the Eagles. We're talking here about improving the best team in the league for a Superbowl run, not complaining about being 3-0.

Ok. I cannot let myself be blinded over a win vs the Pack. Yes it was a huge win, on the road, and a huge win Vs history.

That being said, I wake up today, and cannot deny the eerie feeling. This weird senstation that our QB is making "too (many) mistakes" and that thanks for the great team around him he gets away with it?

Anyone share the feeling?
Three games, three interceptions
Where is the scrambling QB we used to have?
Is the "Romo" magic, when he was not well known, now well studied by opponets fading away?

Is Romo a TRUE QB that will lead us into post season wins?

This are some of the many questions I cannot deny and ask myself?

Any comments guys?

If his TD to INT ratios is 2-1 or 3-1 we can deal with it.

He is gonna make mistakes and take chances. Thats who he is and we deal with it. On the whole its a good thing.

My "concern" is his carelessness with the ball.

I question some of the calls as much as the play of Tony Romo and company. We don't seem to have a problem running the ball in, so why try forcing the ball through the air? On that run fake, it almost looked like if he had handed it to Marion, it would have been a TD instead of a scramble, sack, recovered fumble, field goal.

I'm right there with you.

I want to slap the ever-living **** out of some of the posters here.

Some people here don't deserve to have a good team to cheer for. How quickly these morons forget the 5-11 seasons with QC and Hambrick and the spares we had all about. That's the type of team this whiners deserve.

This team is great. They are a joy to watch and win games for their fans. They do it with good attitudes and effort. They are winning games despite playing on the of the hardest opening stretches in the NFL. The team they beat last week just beat the best team in the AFC,

We have one of the top QBs in the game. We have talent everywhere.

Could we be playing cleaner? Sure. Should that be a sign of worry? No! It should be a sign of hope! We are winning games against good teams while not playing our best football; we should be excited about what we can accomplish.

Some of you are way to obsessed with this playoff drought. Yeah, it sucks. But who cares?

If you need to talk about what your team has accomplished in the past, then you already have all the ammo you need to win that argument with any other fan (most super bowls, most playoff appearances, most playoff wins, etc.).

If you want to talk about this year and the future, then you should be excited about this team.

Like Tony says, enjoy the ride. We'll get to the playoffs later and will climb that hill then. Don't let some narrow obsession with that talking point cause you to not enjoy watching a football team that most fans in this world would kill to have.

These guys are good! Enjoy the now! Quit obsessing over a stupid talking point!

Since when does his play over the course of several years factor into what he did last night?...So, for every time he escaped a pass rush in the last couple of seasons, he gets a pass for taking a sack when he could've thrown it away?...That doesn't even make sense

And it may very well have been the first two times he's been flagged for grounding but he did it not once, but twice last night...How is that possible?...Doesn't the QB coach or Garrett walk over to Romo and say, THIS is how you throw away a pass?...Only for him to repeat it later in the game?

Poor decision making by Romo in many ways last night...T.O. laying into him alone should've illustrated that.

I doubt many fans much less Jerry wants to see less of a 'gambling' Romo in trying to evade the rush but understanding how to throw the ball away seems like it would be something to understand and execute properly (At least after a few seasons in the league, non?).

Passrushers are going to get past the 0-line at times...Just a reality of the NFL, players will make plays...But it also means that if he cannot evade the rush, he needs to know how to get rid of the ball.

Knowing "HOW" to throw it away is a ridiculous statement. I am sorry but it is. Each play has its own circumstances. If you make a guy miss and don't have a chance to settle yourself before the next guy comes then you can't throw it away, you have to take the sack. I agree Romo needs to realize that for sure but the grounding plays he had little chance to even get rid of the ball much less get it down field.

If you want a QB that throws the ball away a lot then you don't want Romo period. He did throw one out of the end zone later in the game if that made you feel better.

Every QB has Ints dropped, every game almost - That is an old argument. We dropped 2 for Rodgers last night I believe.

Rodgers is starting in his first full season. Romo isn't. You don't have to agree but the single biggest stat in the NFL is TO ratio. The statistics are overwhelming. Romo has to stop turning the ball over in the read zone. It's really as simple as that.

There is a concern with INT's in the red zone, especially in the end zone.

He normally more than makes up for it, but it still concerns me that it could happen at a bad time in the future.

If it's not there, it is not a bad thing to throw it away and kick the FG.

This is my concern. The interceptions in the end zone have to stop.

Those intentional grounding calls were acceptable to me. Throw it away so you don't take the hit. Don't try to do too much and cause a turnover. With our offense, we have the ability to make up for the penalty. That second grounding call was close, considering that we had a WR in the area, just not coming back for the ball. The first one, the RB had fallen to the ground so I could see that call. It's not like Romo was throwing it to open field, he was throwing it in the general area of a player.

I'm sure I don't know but your display here does not change the facts. There are always exceptions to any rule but the overwhelming truth of that stat is true. That's just the way it is. Sorry.

I don't understand the comparison is it so hard to not want the QB to turn the ball over while we are in the redzone???

I agree. The 1st one was a situation where he was throwing to the spot the RB should have been had he not slipped. I mean, that kind of call is just part of the game. Sometimes that's going to happen. No big deal IMO. The turn over that really bothered me was the one where he tried to throw the ball when the defense was all over him. He really should know better then that. He was asking for that ball to be stripped. I would rather see him cover it up and just take the sack right there. Go get em the next play.
