Not that I know of. I remember one by Fuzzy about failure rates of 1st round WRs.

I vaguely recall one about DTs as well. I think it came up when discussing one of the DTs from Michigan.

Jake Long could be our left tackle for the next 10 years. I still like Flozell but he is getting up there.
I wouldn't be at all upset if we got Long either.

Yeah it was. Maybe it wasn't you Hos, but whoever it was, it was an eye opener.

The success rate of DTs drafted in the top half of the first is stunningly low.

That said, I never look at a DT and think "No way, cuz he'll be a bust". Each player is different, but it's worth keeping in the back of your mind.

I remember silverbear (sorry to do this to you, bud) being all over Jimmy Kennedy's nads before he was drafted. I told him then he was overrated and would be a bust. Sometimes what's obvious to some, can't be seen by others.

How tall do you think Emmitt really was or Barry Sanders? It's all about talent, determination and football smarts!

I agree with you, but I can say that Emmitt was 5'9" becuase I got the pleasure of meeting him at a charity event.

Scenario A:
DeSean Jackson (browns pick)
Ray Rice (our pick)
CB (round 2)

Jackson groomed for Glenn; an elite type RB, a good CB. Our offense would be stacked.

Scenario B:
McFadden
CB
WR (round 2)

Stacked again....

Let me help you fill in those blanks:

Scenario A:
WR - DeSean Jackson (browns pick)
RB - Ray Rice (our pick)
CB - Dwight Lowery (round 2)

Depends on where the Browns end up. I am not sure if Jackson is top 3 pick material but should definitely go in the top 10. Lowery is a junior college transfer and quickly climbed the ranks. I'm keeping my eye on him all season. I don't think Slaton will last until our pick.

Scenario B:
RB - McFadden (browns pick)
CB - Aqib Talib or Antoine Cason (our pick)
WR - Early Doucet or Adarius Bowman (round 2)

I think Doucet drops into round 2. How far down remains to be seen though. IF he is already gone then I would take Bowman.

Scenario C:
CB - Malcolm Jenkins (browns pick)
RB - Ray Rice (our pick)
WR - Early Doucet or Adarius Bowman (round 2)

Scenario D:
RB - Darren McFadden (browns pick)
WR - Limas Sweed (our pick)
CB - CB - Dwight Lowery (round 2)

Again, I don't think Slaton last until our pick, but I would be happy with either of these scenarios.

I Think we would have to look hard at a WR or CB, if we miss on McFadden.

I would say that CB in the top half of the draft is probably gonna have the highest success rate...atleast from the quick peek I took at it

Jenkins is a stud and a smart pick...

Cowboys don't have much luck with LSU guys. I'll pass. I don't care if he won every award in college.

I really doubt we get McFadden. I am really hoping for this, but I don't think we will get a high enough pick to get him. Remember who we got in free agency (maybe a trade) when we drafted Emmitt. Our running back was newly acquired Terrance Flagler from the 49ers.

I remember Joe Brodsky's quote on the two, "Terrence will take your breathe away but you will get it back, Emmitt will take your breath away and you won't get it back." Good times back in the day....

I think if we want Mcfadden we'll get him. The only way I see us not wanting Mcfadden is if Romo sputters and we go after Brohm, who looks like another Carson Palmer.

The other scenario is to take Slaton a few picks later and not trading our other first. I'm not sure there is much of a gap between Slaton and Mcfadden they both can take your breath away, if anyone looks like LT it's Slaton.

I was shocked to see how stout and muscular Slaton was, they showed a piece on ESPN with White and Slaton hanging out, and Slaton looked THICK, not chubby, but muscular and beefy. I was shocked because the way that guy cuts, jukes and excellerates is out of this world, I assumed he had to be built like Rocket Ismail. I think both McFadden and Slaton are going to be very special RB's.

I like Ray Rice, I think he is a nice third option, but he just doesn't have the ability to take your breath away.

So would you take Carson Palmer or Romo?

Straight up? Right now? Palmer.

Now if Romo continues to impress enough to where I felt sure he was going to be a pro bowl performer year in year out, I would much rather have a Romo AND Mcfadden/Slaton than just Palmer.

But I take Brian Brohm over Quinn all day, every day.

I like Brohm's potential as well.

If Romo's fails down the strecth this year, Brohm will be wearing 12 next year with a Star on his helmet, unless the Falcons have a worse record than Cleveland.

11 or 13, not 12 That number will most likely never be worn again.
