In my opinion, Andy is a quality QB. I like Dak and I believe he will be a Cowboy for a long time. However, I've been an Andy fan for years. Here's my question, if Dak doesn't sign an extension and struggles a bit early in the season, how long until,
1. The fans start yelling for Dalton?
2. How long until MM or Jerry pull the plug on Dak?

1) Pretty sure we already have lots of fans yelling for Dalton.

2) Guessing if we start 5-5 or worse and the blame can be pin pointed on Dak and not the defense, a critical RB fumble, dropped passes, etc

Sounds about right. If Dak really is asking for a Mahomesque contract, I can see the plug being pulled and letting Andy run with it.

Fans have already started yelling for Dalton but if Dak stinks it up then by game 2 we will start hearing it.

If MM is really in control then it’s hard to say cause I am not familiar with him but if I had to guess I would say 4 or 5 bad performances in a row. But if he has a game where he is throwing bunches of pics and a fumble or two, then he may pull him from a game for that game.

That's hard to answer because it might depend on several things like the degree to which Dak is struggling, and if the team and Dak are working on a deal and the team feels good about it. Could be other factors.

But I do think there is a point if there is no deal in sight and Dak isn't playing particularly well that they could consider a change, but since Dalton is only signed for one year they could just ride it out with Dak.

I know - I haven't really said or committed to anything. LOL

1) Second week of camp after Dalton outperforms Dak in the controlled environment of camp.

2) I dare not guess what Jerry will do. It will be very interesting if the offense starts out slow and the team starts to fall behind.

Bonus question) If Dalton is consistently hitting receivers in stride and on time and Dak keeps being Dak how will the team respond?

LOL yeah its clear. I'd say mid-season and if we are close to getting eliminated from playoffs. Sort of like Marcus Mariota 2019 sucking, allowing Tannehill to take over. The yelling already started. It will intensify after the 1st interception, every 3 and out and heck even after every incompletion.

I think the Cowboys believe Dak is their franchise quarterback. So in order for Dalton to get into the game I think its going to take a injury.

It really makes no sense for him to come into the game. You wouldn't bench Dak unless he does what? Loses 4 games in a row? By that time the season is over. If Dak struggled but they continued to win....they would keep Dak in. If Dak was good but they continued to lose....Dak would stay in. Only scenario I can come up with is if he got hurt.

True, I don't see Dak playing that poorly though. But it would take a funk like that where even you'd start to question if this guy has what it takes. Because the weapons are there. Can't be playing like Mariota at all. Maybe 1 game, but several and its questioning time.

I think it might take some fairly disastrous circumstances to give rise to McCarthy electing to pull Dak in favor of Dalton, however!
