Seems like Zeke's legal counsel

Whats the purpose of the league doing this if all we're trying to do is find truth?????? Hmmmmmm If your so called evidence is strong enough to cost an individual nearly a million dollars in salary and potentially tens of millions in endorsements, why are you hiding it????

Because this was simply about PR, plain and simple. The NFL has taken a ton of heat over their past failures in DV issues, including the most embarrassing Josh Brown situation. So along comes a star player in the league and it gives them the opportunity to tell all the advocate groups that, "Hey, look, we really do take this stuff seriously!"

They built a conviction AND THEN back filled the evidence. Further, they are likely relying on recent court cases that have backed the commissioner's ability to levy punishments as he sees fit. Given this, they likely feel they don't have to show crap to Elliott's party. They think they've met the low threshold of guilt and likely believe the courts will uphold their punishment.

It will be interesting to see what happens in the next day or two. I saw one legal analysis saying that Elliott had to do the appeal hearing before they filed in court. The league would likely wait until the appeal decision is in to head to court if they want to get this in NY. But Elliott's camp could file as soon as tomorrow stating that the appeal hearing was a sham.

Does the NFLPA agreement supersede due process in an employment situation? Even getting knocked down to 3 games is BS. If the NFLPA contract allows this kind of crap to be done with no evidence...they need to tear that thing up and strip Czar Roger of his power.

After the League issued its ruling, do they have any cause to file against Elliott prior to his filing with a district court?

And when Elliott files in district court, won't the district court be able to look at all the evidence?

No arbitration or CBA can supersede due process and fundamental fairness. That's what the eventual court case will be about, the fairness of the process, not the evidence and case itself.

If it plays out like Brady did and Zeke plays all year then they draft a RB in the 3rd or 4th round next year that makes it much easier to get by without Zeke, then I'd call it a huge win.

So a 3rd or 4th round RB is better than Morris and McFadden?

WHy??

There is no timetable for the NFL to rule on the appeal's hearing. How many think the decision is announced after the Giants game?
If Zeke doesn't present new evidence, this will probably be completed by Sept. 2. Henderson will uphold the 6-game suspension, then it'll be a race to get the case to federal appeals courts. The NFL will try to act fast so they can keep it in New York like they did Tom Brady. Kessler will try to get it elsewhere.

Either way, if an injunction is granted, this will last for a year or more. Get ready for this story to hang over Zeke and this team for 12-18 months.

That's what I've heard from multiple legal experts on local radio.

No he has a better chance of winning it court. In court you have real judges, and real evidence produced by both parties of an argument. None of this banana appeal system and investigative team which the NFL has setup as an extravagant witch hunt just to appease the public.

Kessler is a good lawyer. He is respected and judges actually listen to his case. He made the NFL look like fools and exposed them for their lies.

If Brady wanted to he could have taken this to the supreme court and win. Besides this isn't Deflategate.

This is a totally different set of circumstances in which several witnesses and sworn affidavits written favor Zeke. The NFL will have a tougher time with this case then they did with Deflategate.

Nope, because the appeals court will not look at the actual case. It'll look at whether the league has the right to suspend Zeke under the current CBA.

The courts already ruled on this with Brady, and he lost. Kessler just wants to drag it out for as long as he can. Zeke is going to lose in the end, but he won't have to serve a suspension until next year if Kessler can delay, delay, delay.

Meanwhile, the NFLPA will use this year to beat Tiffany Thompson's reputation to shreds, and turn the public against the NFL.

Don't be so sure. These problems are self created. Its time for some mature reality. Elliott must change.

Honestly this is not about Zekes other behavior, this is about preserving his reputation.

Sure I hope he learns other lessons but if he did not hit her, then there is no lesson to be learned by unjust punishment!

But the owners love Roger, and they're the only ones that matter. They're close to giving him a huge extension.
