Unless Collins could move to RT next season.

I actually like that idea a lot X. He seems athletic enough to me and has great feet.
Not sure but nobody ( coaches or scouts) thinks he can play there.
Probably won't matter anyway, Leary is probably gone after this yr.

Man I had no idea he was going to be this good.. I mean he's only a rookie , could he become the next LA? I think he can especially having Smith next to him. Easily the steal of the draft

in all honestly from my point of view, i only knew of 1 person who said all along this is what we'd have if we were able to get collins.

stasharoo.

i'm sure others did too, but he and i got into it a bit on this one. i was wrong on us getting him, sure. but i had no idea how good he would be.

just dayum.

Leary is a restricted free agent which makes it easy to keep him.

Watching Collins in these games he appears to have plenty of athleticism to play RT. I've definitely seen less athletic RTs in the league that were good players. Loadholt with the Vikings, the fat guy with the Bengals. Collins is more athletic than Marc Columbo ever was from what I see.

If Dallas can maintain the current OL, the similarities to The Hogs of the 1980's cannot be dismissed.
The Commanders had a dominant OL which contributed to Super Bowl victories with 3 different QB's (Theismann, Williams, & Rypien).
Granted, the Commanders had Hall Famer Joe Gibbs as head coach with Joe Bugel & Jim Hanifan as OL coaches.

In the current diluted era of the NFL with free agency and the salary cap, an all-world OL can potentially be a decisive factor in winning championships -- even with solid not magnificent QB performance.
The talent is there, it is up the coaching staff and front office to retain the group and develop a complete team to complement the all-powerful OL.

Amazing. It looks like he's blocking a DB not a 310 pound 1tech DT.

Mebane has been one of the better 4-3 1tech in the league the past few years.

Collins has such effortless looking power and often seems to be too upright to be generating that much power.

I can only imagine what it looks like in practice when Collins blocks Hayden. I envision the scene from the Blindside when he blocks that kids practically back to the bus.

This is how I imagine it.

He looked sketchy in the preseason with a lot of mistakes and then had more mistakes in those 2 games he played when Leary got injured. The physical ability to be really good showed up in the preseason but I didn't think his learning curve was on track to be this far along in his development by week 8.

Yeah, it's not like he is pushing around some bum there. We all saw the play where he put Brandon Wagner on his hind end as well.

This guy has really changed my mind about keeping with Leary. I think Leary is a good football player and really liked what he did for us last year but Collins is in a whole other class and brings the kind of talent, power, athleticism and attitude that is rare.

It's been awhile since I've seen such a force get off the ball that fast and get to the second and third levels all while punishing people. Looking forward to watching more of Collins and Tyron together.

Good points. But i doubt they move him if he continues to dominate at LG. They may be content to gamble on Green at RT or sign/draft Free's replacement.

Thank You JJ. You closed the deal on this one...... At least to me makes up a little for some of your less stellar moves regarding wideouts.....

Yes, it seems doubtful; however, if Leary could get back to his 2014 level of play, then that would likely be the best overall OL; unless Green really wows or if they used an early pick on a RT.

I would hope they would at least give him some practice snaps there in the off-season just as a backup plan. I think Green has talent but I'm not sure if he can stay healthy because he didn't in college.

to be honest id rather have him next to Smith. this could be one of the best Left sides on the offense line ever

Yes, but the Cowboys have the weakest link in the chain issue. They might have 4 All-Pros but then they have PeeWee Herman at RT.

They could probably upgrade RT by moving Beasley or Whitehead to that spot. Maybe 3rd string QB Moore could be used to replace Free or maybe there are some water boys that have always wanted to try playing football. Would the NFL allow a cardboard cut-out of Erik Williams to be used? Heck I'll even volunteer to play RT if they'll let me wear one of those blow up sumo suits.
