I hate the 2-3-2 format. IIRC, no team has ever won all three games in the middle there at home. The Lakers are probably going to have to win 2 on the road.

Here's my theory on the Celtics. Ray Allen, Garnett and Pierce individually has never made it this deep into the playoffs. Due to their age and lack of a really good bench, their legs are really tired that's why more athletic teams like the Hawks and Cavaliers took them to 7 games. Now look at the Lakers, we have a bench that is very young, as well as some grizzled vets to go with the ultimate assassin, the closer, the Black mamba, Kobe Bryant.

Also off the top of my head - Detroit won all three at home the year they beat the Lakers in the Finals 4-1.

In baseball a few years ago the home team won every game in the Yankees/Diamondbacks World Series.

What does a regular season win you? nothing. Regular season records between the two don't matter, Gasol wasn't in LA. The Lakers have beat better teams in the playoff's and done it with less difficulty. Vastly better defence? again, in the playoff's that hasn't been the case, and the Laker offense doesn't go missing.

Playoff stats: Lakers average 105 PPG, 40 rebounds, 21 assists - in the west
Boston average 91 PPG, 39 rebounds, 21 assists - in the east

Lakers are the better team, we'll see what happens.
