Yeah, I heard that quote and was filled with hope and optimism. However, I think Sean Lee basically said the same thing after his toe injury last year. So, I'll keep my fingers crossed for a little longer.

I know like Lee, Ware will give it his all and do everything he can to get well as quickly as possible. Ware isn't the type of player to milk an injury and will play even if hurt.

have to wait for the doctors, ware is a tough SOB. He never wants to be out.

he actually sustained this injury two drives before he left. He injured his quad and limped off the field early in the 2nd quarter. they put a heating pad on his thigh and he stretched and said he was fine. the next series he just aggravated it without contact and left the game because he couldn't play with it.

I think his point is that certain players have earned the right to a certain level of respect. The fact that he is having nagging injuries and that his play may be declining is something to evaluate but I think Ware has earned a little more respect then "who cares, he's done" - even if his role does need to be reduced.

Well said!

And I can understand the sentiment from theebs to a degree because Ware has been a great player for all of his career until now. There is a lot of emotion/feelings invested in players like Ware.

It's about time for him to be 2nd and 3rd down player only. Let a bigger body play that spot on 1st down and short yardage plays and let Ware save some wear and tear on his aging body. I think if he can get healthy, he will still be effective in pass rushing situations but if asked to play every down, his body will simply continue to break down.

I agree with this. Going forward, he would be best as a nickel package player. Unfortunately we simply don't have the personnel to do this.

Id love to see him stay healthy. But hes been injured a year and a half now. Next year if hes still playing I think hed be a great situational player. He cant be a 3 down player at this rate. We need to draft a replacement for him and hatcher.

If he's still here as a situation player, we still need to draft his, hopeful, replacement this off-season, IMO.

people saying the guy is done and who cares.

Good god we have some of the most ignorant, disrespectful non appreciative fans in the league.

It's almost as if there are people in the world with different opinions.

Thats what I mean. We need replacements for him and hatcher this offseason. But at the same time to keep him here to be a situational player he would have to take a significant pay cut.

Hatcher is absolutely tearing it up, however, I am lamenting the Cowboy's luck that he is on pace for a 13 sack season which would be one of the better performances by a 4-3 DT in the past decade in a contract year.

My first inclination is that they need to resign this guy, however, SOME TEAM is going to pay him a BOATLOAD of money despite the fact he'll be 32 years old going into next season. I suspect the Cowboys won't have the stomach to pay him.

I've heard players say stuff like. Then we end up putting them on IR

I didn't say that what he said meant anything. lol

Guy asked if there was news. I give the people what they ask for.

I'm not sure I agree with Hatcher needing a replacement yet, but we legitimately need Wares replacement here next season (or who we hope to be his replacement). That should be our 1st round pick, IMO.

Isn't Hatcher a Free Agent at the end of the season? If so, picked a hellva good time to have a career year. DTs who can manage to have 10+ sacks in a season are worth their weight in gold. If Hatchers continues playing this well the Cowboys are going to have a really tough decision to make re: whether or they can/should resign him.

Reading some of the posts on here and all I can say is anyone who thinks Ware is done have no clue. He got injured and y'all are ready to throw him to the curb! I hope he's back ASAP. He's a huge asset to our defense and team overall.

I think people think he's done because there is an obvious decline and he is almost always injured. People say he needs to rest. He had all off-season and the injuries are still there and continuing to pile up with him. The guy has had a long and HOF worthy career. It doesn't mean he can play forever. At some point his career is going to end and it looks to be in the twilight year now. Seems some people can't come to terms with the fact that Ware isn't going to be here.

Great player, seems like a great guy and needs to have his role reduced next season.

I'd be shocked if our top two picks next are aren't on the DL

This is another reason why Jerry has to stop restructuring deals and handout big contracts like candy...Ware still has a quarter tank left.. but will never live up to what he is owed.

Definitely need to draft D-Linemen whether Ware gets back on track or not. Maybe a DE in the first and a DT in the 3rd

Not to mention just yesterday alone on the opening drive for Washington he made the plays on first and goal and second and goal.
