I'd be shocked if our top two picks next are aren't on the DL

Well ONE of them certainly needs to be. Whether Ware is still playing next year or not, we need his eventual replacement here. All the better if Ware is just situational and can show the new guy the ropes.

What is ignorant about that?...the who cares is a bit of an exaggeration but its not like he's a major force anymore.

People act like he's the greatest defensive player to ever step on the field. He's 17th in career sacks and needs another 18 to crack the top 10. He's an old 31 and breaking down more by the minute.

He was a great player. An all-time great, no. An HOFer, no, and his best days are behind him. I dont know whats disrespectful about that.

Unless I don't know how to read, Simeon Rice, Leslie O'Neil, Clyde Simmons, Michael Strahan, and Kevin Greene (3rd all time) who all have more sacks than Ware are not in. Why would he get in before any of those guys?

He could pass Rice and Simmons this year, but that still leaves the other three. How can you make a case for him over any of those other guys?

Oh, wow - you really were serious.

DeMarcus Ware I believe is was the second fastest player to 100 sacks after Reggie White if I'm remembering correct. So he has been producing at an extremely high level consistently. An almost record high. Your other examples might have more sacks, but it took them longer to get those sacks. DeMarcus would have a higher sacks per game stat than any of them I imagine.

Probably. I'm not debating that he wasn't an HOF talent in his prime, her certainly was. But as of right now, he doesn't have the body of work to be in there if those guys aren't.

And the sacks per game thing is misleading because he has played in a time where teams throw the ball way more than they did previously, so naturally, sacks per game numbers will go up.

I care, but do agree that he's done. It may be time for him to retire after this season.

He's not nearly to that point but the injuries are bringing him down he can't seem to stay on the field. If it's not a neck burner, back strain or shoulder problem it's something else. We've been seeing this for 2 seasons now. He's clearly on the decline and is not the player he was.

Ware out 3-4 weeks. Short end of that timeframe would have him back for Sunday Night Football at New Orleans. Long end he's out through the bye and returns at New York.

I think the HOF is more about impact. Ware has been regarded as one of the most dominant pass rushers of his time. Guys like that don't miss out on the HOF.

Ware being out for 3-4 weeks was originally reported by Adam Schefter...hasn't been very reliable with Cowboy info

Hopefully he has a Greg Ellis like transition to his game as he gets older.

With our track record for reporting injuries, this is likely career-ending.

just let him sit until he is 100% all around or as close to 100% a possible. we need a healthy ware for the stretch run.

Well maybe some silver lining in this cloud.

With all Ware's other aches and pains, shutting him down until after the bye week may really help him for the stretch drive.

We just have to still be in the playoff hunt then...
