My concern is Jerry paying that much to get him out of his contract and the money for one here.

Unless LSU calls off the dogs and sits Burrows...
Red Bull Ed is playing with fire leaving Burrow in. Can you imagine the fallout if Burrow were to take a shot and get hurt and miss the final?

Coaching Dallas under Jerry is not a promotion anyways. Lincoln has it made at OU. They get great recruits and he will win a lot of games in the Big 12. They will compete for that conference every year and get to the playoffs more times. The fans love him as they did Stoops. The NFL is a whole different animal and so is dealing with Jerry. Lincoln has free reign at OU. Jerry meddles in every decision and at every turn. Lincoln would be stupid to take the Dallas job.

I generally agree, but I don’t think coaches like Pederson or McVay are defensive minded either but still get the job done with good DC hires.

It’s not about being defensive minded as a coach but more about how to manage a game to help out your defense and from what I’ve seen he is terrible at that.

What? Why would you say that? I want to hear this.

Look, I want Meyer, but I could live with Riley. He’s an offensive innovator and a way better game day coach than Garrett (it’s not even close).

But I'd love to hear how you think Riley is an offensive innovator? Innovation means bringing some new trend to the table. What was that exactly? Their offense is nothing special. He has played with 3 straight Heisman QBs. He plays in a conference that does not play defense. His QBs have all day to throw and the WRs run free. He is running the same offense Leach/Stoops ran for 2 decades before him. There is absolutely nothing special about Lincoln Riley and he absolutely is Jason Garrett 2.0.

And no, he is not a better in game coach. If everything goes right, he wins and looks great. Like Garrett. But he doesn't make adjustments and his teams fold under adversity. They are one in the same. Put Garrett in place of Lincoln at OU and they will look the same. OU gets about 8 free wins a year with their schedule in regards of their talent.

At least 28 NFL teams asked Sooners coach Lincoln Riley for advice. Like they literally sent people to his doorstep to pick his brain.

He’s an out of the box thinker and thumbs his nose at NFL conventional thinking. Aka he’s the polar opposite of Jason Garrett.

The big thing is that his play designs create separation for even average receivers.

Where does this say Riley can be a successful NFL coach. No question about his successful COLLEGE offense but that's long ways from being a successful NFL head coach.

I BEEN SAYING THIS. Buyer beware on Riley. I think he doesn't have a big enough resume to be a good NFL HC YET. LSU proved my point. Basically LSU is a semi pro team playing against lesser talent and coaching, and it showed all year. Last night was no different. Why not go after Ed Orgeron?

It doesn’t and I didn’t say that either. I just said he was an offensive innovator and someone questioned that.

A good or great NFL coach? That’s anybody’s guess.

This post is ridiculous on so many levels.

why exactly? I’m an OU fan and I’ve watched Riley every game he’s coached. The dude is a glorified QB coach...just like Garrett. All these guys like McVay, Kingsbury and Riley are super creative but lack in just about every other phase of coaching.

Nice dodging the question.
I'm not dodging the question. If you had followed his career, you wouldn't be asking how he is qualified. It's not my job to educate you if you are deficient in your knowledge about the man.

No, when you present a claim, and someone calls you on it, it is your job to validate said claim, otherwise you're full of ish
