Anyone else bothered by Aikman these days?

I think its tough love. He wants you guys to be better, he thinks highly of the cowboys, so he gives his unbiased opinion about some of your roster moves that he disagrees with and probably gets just as mad as any of us do when our team is losing. You've got to admit, since aikman left - the last of the triplets - other than beating up on the skins every season (except last year's SWEEEEEEEEEEP) there hasn't been much to be excited about. Its been the same for us for a longer time, how about the entire tenure of Norv (thats what we get for getting a stinking cowboy), Shottenheimer, and the Ole' Ball Coach. The 2nd coming of Gibbs has got everyone thinking big in DC again...its been a long time coming, maybe T.O. can get some excitement back in big D.
And another good one.

Tough love comes from those inside the org Aikman has nothing to do with franchise decisions anymore. Someone who thinks highly of someone give them respect. There has been plenty to be excited about. There is excitement in every play or every game win or lose.

Personally I can't wait for you oinkers to wallow in our cowpies.

A win is a win. If we had more than one reciever we might have gotten it done against the Seahawks...we handled them earlier in the season. Jimmy Farris and Taylor Jacobs wern't scaring anyone out there. When 2 o-linemen went down we were beat. We had our backup center playing gaurd when Ray Brown went down. Our D won the game against the Bucs, but Portis came up with some big runs. You've got to admit, with our offseason moves and the core group we have coming back on both sides of the ball, we're a legitimate contender.

Yeah and our OL and LB were crippled. We go from 7-3 leading the NFC in about everything to struggling game after game. You guys benefited from Philly, Dallas, and the Giants getting key injuries. Then when you played the NFCE teams at the end of the year you guys got banged up.

Just because the doesn't kiss the Cowboys arses like Theisman does the Commanders doesn't mean he's a hater. :D

Geez, I guess Troy needs to every move Cowboys make is great one or be overly optimistic about Cowboys for him to be good analyst in some cowboys fans eyes!

More and More I am buying into theory, Cowboys fans are too much into Media hates cowboys, even if facts don't add up.

Aikman speaking negatively about the Cowboys is just him being honest. Since before he left, there isn't much to get excited and positive about. Now that the team is finally improving maybe he will say a few positive things this year. I apreciate his honesty.

Wow, color me surprised at these negative opinions,,, I think Aikman is one of the most knowledgeable and professional announcers out here right now and he's brutally honest (though sometimes I think he does spin his comments to avoid being labeled a "homer"). I'd rather listen to him than just about anybody out there.

+1 on thinking he is disappointed in some of the Cowboy organization's moves,,, but aren't we all?

The fact of the matter is, he does say positive things when it warrants it. The problem with some of these whiners is that, they want him to be positive about most things cowboys, just because he is former cowboys player.

What these guys never hear is, the negative things that Irvin or Moose say. But they don't say it the way Troy says. I heard troy say plenty of times he liked the last year draft and the character players they have. And he was high on Cowboys last year, till they started falling apart.

But I guess he needs to say Cowboys will be great/good no matter how bad he thinks they are. If not he is hater

I, for one, am glad that is not his style.

Now that he no longer throws passes for my favorite team, he just plain bothers me nowadays.

Am I alone here?

He just seems like a know-it-all who goes out of his way to criticise Dallas these days.

agreed.

Well, I think Troy is often critical of the Cowboys. Much of the time we have deserved it.

I think those who think he is being disloyal should think back to the game TO 'disrespected' the star. We had an awful team, and Troy was out there getting booed constantly by Cowboys fans. It was unmerciful, and had I been treated that way, I'm not sure I would be any more loyal to the fans than they were to me.

you're not alone. He is good at the job, but he seems to feel compelled to go out of his way to speak negatively about the organization. And if he's calling one of our games, then he has to prop the opponent to death while minimizing any positives he has to throw our way.

Agree completely. Theisman has been out of the game for a long time so he doesn't really need to worry about being labeled a homer. He has established himself as an ESPN analyst, and since he got the MNF gig, I'd say ESPN is generally happy with him, homer or not. But Aikman is realitively new to the booth and he might go out of his way to avoid being labeled, he's probably just trying to be as professional as he can at this point in his broadcasting career.

Theisman is more of a color commentator while Aikman seems more serious and analyitical in the booth. Again, I think he's the best thing going on Fox, and I hated him up until Lavar put him out. I think some of you guys just wish he was more of a homer, wish that he'd be hyping the boys up...but I don't think he and Jerry Jones see eye to eye on a lot of moves and he's honest about it. Didn't he say he disagrees with the T.O. deal? I wouldn't want T.O. on my team, and I'm sure up util he signed his name a lot of you guys hated him too.

 I'm very disturbed by this comment. Up to this point, I thought brokeback mountain was only a movie.

When we start to win and look like a strong playoff team I think Aikman will have more good things to say about this team. Kinda hard to say that many good things about a team that has been 15-17 the last 2 years.

I like Troy a lot as a broadcaster Irvin is the one I think does a terrible job being and analyst but you guys love Irvin because he does play the homer card but that is me.

I disagree with most of the people I guess. I thought he'd be a total bust as a broadcaster because he's well.... boring. But he's been a pleasant surprise. He does seem to be going out of his way to make sure nobody accuses him of being a Cowboy's homer, but I wouldn't call him a hater.

I agree. The people that dont like Aikman as a commentator are folks that want the Cowboys continously praised 365 days a year.

wolverine.........please don't go there.

I don't have the slightest problem with Aikman as a broadcaster. He's a true professional, and has been throughout his career(s).

When I want to hear homerism...I just mute the TV and do my own analysis.
