Respect is earned not given. It's too early to have earned enough respect from the media. given our injury list. But they'll learn.

You don't really believe they were stupid enough to go down on those running plays when they had a chance to go up by 2 scores do you?? That was a comment by a running back who got his feelings hurt because he was stuffed 2 plays in a row.

All we have to go on is the word of the RB that said it and Eli. Either way, they gift wrapped the game to us. Live, it looked like they stuffed him. They also screwed up by not running on 3rd down. Equally as big a screw up.

Eli get's most of the blame his mistake gave the Cowboys an extra 40 seconds to work with and without that they wouldn't have had enough time to score with no time outs.

It would have been tougher, but they still had time. Eli made a huge mistake and trust me nobody dislikes him more than I do, but game wasn't completely decided on that one play. A lot of things had to happen for that one play to even matter. The bottom line is the Cowboys played with poise and confidence. The Giants did not. Not only Eli.

Either way screw the Giants!

I wouldn't say the media are disrespecting us.
I mean, really. Cowboys fans say that the media don't give Romo credit for being one of the top quarterbacks in the league.
Well, now that he's out, wouldn't you think the absent of one of the top quarterbacks in the league would produce reaction that would lead some to believe we're being disrespected?
If we are viewed in the same light absent Tony Romo, then doesn't that mean Romo's presence and influence on this club is minimal?
I would think the media WOULD consider us less than a contender if our best quarterback - and one of the best in the league - is out due to injury.

That is how I know we are a good team. lol Bad teams who play sloppy get blown out of games the fact the Cowboys are managing to win does say a lot about them but you will not walk into games vs NE, GB or Sea and win playing like that.

right. You can look at the Giants game a lot of different ways...

The Giants, probably shouldve won. Our Defense didnt step up when we needed it too.....

However, we turned the ball over 3 times....And still kept the game close enough to take advantage of that mistake by Eli. That says something about the effort and team.

Two of those turnovers were complete gifts, falling right into the hands of the defense with nothing but open field to the endzone....

I think we are the better team, but I wouldnt say we dominated them. We beat them 6,7 times out of 10.

This team is different from last years. Last year I felt like we did start to dominate teams. Im not sure we will be that team this year. But............ I think we will just be a team that is.............................Hard To Beat.

They all seem to be saying the Giants should have won the 1st game and the only reason they lost is because of Eli. They all seem to conveniently forget that we dominated that game at the only reason the Giants were even in a position to win was because we handed them 3 turnovers. We have flat out dominated both of the games we've played so far and only our own mistakes have made it interesting.... SMH. I guess I'll never understand...

We played ugly in the first game because of the turnovers. We played ugly in the second game because of penalties. We've lost our star quarterback and receiver. I would say we don't exactly deserve a whole lot of respect right now.

But I don't really care about respect. All I can about is victories. We have two of those. Get nine more and we for sure make the playoffs. Get two or three more after that and we make the Super Bowl. Then, the media can disrespect us all the way up to the moment we win the title.

The Giants SHOULD have won the first game.
And, no, we did not dominate the Giants game. Our defense played outstanding, but we coughed the ball up. And those turnovers weren't simply a product of us making mistakes. The Giants put on a pass rush that caused an errant throw by Romo. The Giants stripped balls that caused turnovers. We didn't just hand them the ball.

But we're 2-0. That's all that matters. The object of the game is to WIN - pretty or ugly.

and I have said as much in my other post. Fact that Dallas turned the ball over 3 times and not only did they not lose or get blown out they won!!! NY left the door open and Dallas took it. Very proud of that. Philly game 18 penalties? at their place and we win? Defense was outstanding and special team made a big time play on the block and recovery for TD. Romo goes down giving Philly some hope but team held together and even Weeden got in on the deal going 7-7 and a perfect strike to Williams in stride for a game capping TD.

There is some good that can be said about these wins. However any athlete true to himself knows when they played poorly and looks to correct those things not stand around as if to say look at me I'm a winner. lol

It would have been a lot tougher with only about 47 seconds left and no time outs it would have been a comeback for the ages. Eli's gaff left the Cowboys with 1:27 left and the winning TD came with only 7 seconds left. It would have taken completing a deep throw and hopefully enough time for a couple of shots at the endzone to win the game had the Giants burned off an extra 40 seconds.

Aw, heck. They didn't respect us even in the 1990s when we were winning 3 Super Bowls. I don't expect respect from the media, and no one here should.

It's really hard to not find a non-biased ex football player on any of the networks. Bruschi is terrible. I can't stand watching him. But I can find idiots like him on every sports channel. And then you get guys like Kevin Frazier on the NFL Network. He's embarrassing. I guess they like having a TMZ angle on the games being played. Then they pair him up with Heath Evans who is another ex-player who sucks too. The Cowboys suck now to everyone because of Dez and Romo but all of us fans know that this is a different team that doesn't melt under pressure. They just need to get that running game going and let the defense keep doing what they're doing so the team can make a run in the playoffs when those guys get back. They can do that while the Media loves them some Eagles and Giants

That's actually somewhat true but I remember it being much better than how it has devolved.

Seems that way to you... in PA, no wonder. Here in Texas they get zero respect.

I'm talking more of the national media. I live near the PA-MD boarder. There's as many Deadskin and Ravens fans around here as there are Eagles, probably more so.

My point exactly... I live in Cowboy country in the middle of Texas. Hundreds of miles in every direction is still Cowboy faithful. Of course your perspective of the media is going to be different than mine. I don't pay attention to the national media, it's not relevant to me.

To give you an idea how costly Eli's clock management gaff was the Cowboys started their final drive at their own 28 yard line with a 1:29 left on the clock with no time outs. Had Eli's brain not malfuctioned handing the Cowboys an extra 40 seconds they would have started their drive with only about 49 seconds left. Had the Cowboys run the same 2 plays that Dunbar picked up 40 yards on the game would have been over because both plays took 43 seconds and the Cowboys wouldn't have been able to get the snap off to attempt a hail mary before the clock ran out. Had they started their final drive with 49 seconds left Romo would have had to force a ball down the field and it could have ended up being picked which we all know would have resulted in him being shafted by some in the media for getting picked with the game on the line.

The Cowboys dodged a bullet that night being given a realistic chance to pull the game out when the Giants had the game in the bag. Hard to believe a QB who won 2 SB's in dramatic come from behind situations in the closing seconds could make a mistake like Eli made in a season opening game. Eli looks and sounds like his elevator is jammed between two floors. He's a very unimpressive QB to look at and listen to his demeanor doesn't instill confidence.
