I am in my 50's and have for all my life looked forward to football season and the cowboy game each week. Today I'm on the zone looking for something to believe in. I see stories of JJ saying we are like the rams. I roll my eyes at the joke that this seems. Does he really believe that or is he just trying to pump up a tired fan base?

I read JG saying that nothing major is changing on the offense. Boy the guy really knows how to pump you up . Linehan says that Dak needs to start slinging it. I get the point about him playing up tight but I feel like you need to do something to help him out so he gets protection to sling it. I feel like we will run the same crap and hope he can man up and somehow become Romo.

I see rookie QB after rookie QB getting setup to succeed by their coaches. Then I look at Rush who looked great last year and now looks alot like what Dak looks like running this offense.

All of this leads me to feel meh. I'm caring less than I ever have and I hate it. Come on Cowboys give me SOMETHING to believe in on offense and think the future will be better than the current.
I feel the same way, I'm 49, my dad was a fan so I was born into it..lol
But.. I noticed the same things pretty much. The offense is Bland, same ole play calls or play book, either way Tyne coaches are not utilizing Dak's strengths. Nor utilizing the receivers the same way, they each have a different benefit..

The FO had made horrible decisions for the past 6 or so t years, as long as the cowboys brand is no 1, the rest doesn't matter

..it all starts with the coaches. They are the mentors and cornerstones of teams. Jerry refuses to see he needs a new broom and needs to use it. Never mix biz with friendships is the saying. I wonder if Jerry remembers?

Need some pumping up? Just listen to the clown show front office lead by Jerrah the ring leader. Cowboys offense is like the Rams you didn't know that? Dak is going to start slinging it around. Cowboys are going to work harder. You can keep eating the crap that this organization feeds us or just accept reality that this front office lead by Jerrah is a joke. Sorry there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel.

The defense is fun to watch this year, but when the Cowboys get the ball I just brace myself for disappointment.

it's pretty simple,,, when you have faith in your QB there's hope that things can turn around. When there's no faith then hope is lost, not just for now but also for the near future because finding franchise QBs is freaking hard and time consuming. I still think there's a chance that Dak can grow into the position but I need to see some real progress. Right now I'm seeing none.

Have been since before the season started. Expectations were low last year and this year for this team. Dallas is a good 3-5 years away from being contenders. Depending on the qb.

I have felt Meh for 20 years. But this year is turning out EXACTLY like last year. Its a horror show from the beginning and you just know that there is no hope.

It happens nearly every year. One little injury or mishap and it all falls apart. Its the coaching. ITs absolutely terrible and everyone knows it. The team is NOW starting to fall apart from within. Beasley blaming others ect….ect…..
-----------------
Spot on.....speaking of our inept Howdy Doody JG coach, the world sees it, the media sees it, the fans see it, the sports-casters see it, the opposing teams see it.....BUT the only man that can do anything about it sits oblivious in his ivory tower, insulated and surrounded by YES men....

Sort of like the "Emporor's New clothes" being told exactly what he wants to hear, all is well in Cowboy land Jerry.

I am also in my 50s, long long time fan....Each year I have held out hope that JJ would finally right the ship and fire the HC and bring in real football minds to turn this mess around and make us competitive again.......well we all know how that has turned out.......we are going BACKWARDS folks....1 step up, 2 steps back......actually regressing (and NOT JUST DAK, but the entire organization, aside from a few but ultimately meaningless defensive improvements).

Meh?.....NO....HOPELESS, YES! your damn right......i have never felt as LOW as i do right now about the future of our boys...because I KNOW in my hearts of hearts, after watching the culture of the sidelines, interviews, training, coaching disintegrate over the past decade.......we are doomed until the red-headed butt-slapper is gone. We will never rise above this cloud......

That's all there is to look forward to is the defense. Granted the defense hasnt faced a good offense yet but theres some hope there.

It's hard to care because Jerry nor Garrett care. They are just smiling, pocketing fistfuls of gullible fans' money. This offense stinks and there's NO real changes coming? What did they say about the definition of insanity? The problem is we have a coaching staff that has no real answers, so why should they try to adjust?

I shut off the game at halftime last week, I have finally had enough of this team after 46 years of following them. Organization has become a clown show.

Much as I hate Garrett, what is most deflating is knowing the Jones family will have this team for decades to come.

yep, no coach can overcome this:

Same here. It sucks waiting all these months for football season to start, only to be possibly be disinterested in it after just a few weeks. Gonna be a long season. I'm sure alot of you feel that way. Something you look forward to for such a long time only to try to convince yourself "screw it, I don't care, let them lose out". Only, you do care. It sucks to not care week in week out. Even if we win this week, what could the Cowboys possibly do to give us any kind of hope that they will start a winning streak of some sort. Whay if we win 17-14? That sure isn't gonna get me pumping my fist. Sure, the defense played great again, but so what, another game the offense sucked. To give me ANY kind of hope they would have to win of course and possibly put up MAYBE 25 points? I'd like 28-30, but come on! I'll believe that when I see it. THEN, they would have to win again next week somehow for me to go "Ok, ok maybe we are coming out of this........anyway, yeah that's where I'm at. Otherwise I'd rather them just lose, and lose bad. Because I'll tell you what, with Romo, Witten, Dez all gone now there isn't anybody on this roster that I would feel for if the season went into the tank. I don't feel a connection with anybody on this roster yet, with the exception of Lee.
End of rant, sorry

Edit: sorry for the large font I must of hit something on accident

Haha I don't care what QB you have in the backfield with these plays and the amount of pressure given up by this o-line nobody is going to be able to do much in this offense. Personally I think most of our offensive woes are the direct result of extremely poor o-line play which has a cascading affect on the entire offense. You can't give up multiple sacks, penalties on 1st or 2nd down, 10 knockdowns, and 20 pressures a game and expect ANY QB to do very much not in this offensive scheme at least.

We've had worse offensive lines here in the past and better production.

Just another pity party thread.

Definitely not a pity party thread. I’m acknowledging the deterioration of passion which is a real thing. It’s a fan board for fans to talk about the team. I’m tired of talking about Dak sucks or Zeke sucks. The problems are a total dis function of the offense and in part the entire team. The consequence is a fan base losing hope and interest. It’s a real problem. When life long rabid fans are losing passion the teams base is in trouble. We are the ones who have bought merchandise for decades. We helped make the NFL. Ticket as we paid to watch them. Sure there are newer fans but they will peel off as the team loses more and more. This is the canary in the coalmine. Ignore it if you will but it doesn’t change anything.

Guess we are crazy for thinking but will change every year. Remember after the big rookie year how excited I was for 2017.

I guess I am still pumped for this year. Don’t like what I am seeing so far on Offense. But can still turn it around if the players haven’t given up.

MY passion for football hasn't changed. I flip on the Rams - Vikings game and see two exciting offenses. I see the Steelers and the Bucs in a shootout. THe Packers offense, the Chiefs...so many fun teams to watch. And then there is ours.....just so boring. Our games are just tedious to watch.
