Unpack, fold and do your laundry if you like. The placement of the pass does not change the rest of the rulebook. Illegal contact and holding still apply no matter if the ball is caught by a kid in the 14th row.
And he was not able to run his route. This was an epic loss by the team. Mostly Defense allowing like 5 or so td drives killed us off. The first quarter was ruled by the refs

It was a bad outing for us. We got smoked. Especially our Defense. They allowed at least 5 tds on the first 5 drives of the game.

But they for sure got a jump start from the refs in the 1st quarter. Come on. Did saints dbs even look back for the ball. So many broken plays the defender draped all over our WR and went through them with no flag. Never looking for the ball. We had a break up where our defender got there a tick early and they threw that one with no problem.

Lamb was interfered with in the endzone and then another defender came over and hit him helmet to helmet with no flag. Tolbert had a contested one handed catch where the defender was all over him early and never looked for the ball with no flag.

Then early on Lamb had a flag picked up because the ball was not catchable. Was not catchable because he was not allowed to run his route. Instead they called a ticky tack call on our O-Line.

I am sure some will pick and choose other plays we got away with something but the first quarter was obviously one sided calls.
Yeah..I was thinking the refs are betting on these games even tho they're not permitted when there's a will there's a way the refs were terrible on Sunday

Na man they 100% were allowed to fave guard. The announcer even said on a real blatantly obvious one that they probably won't call it on a LB. Davis made zero attempt to look back.

As you said, we got smoked and it doesn't matter. It didn't help though.
For sure gave them a head start. But once it went down hill the ball just rolled.

This made me laugh. "At least"

Is it possible to allow more than 5 tds on the first 5 drives? :muttley:
First 2 drives they got helped. After that I just sat there with my mouth open. This isn’t happening. Dak tried to bring us back. Aubrey needs a ice bath after that game..

They should be fined a game check.. absolutely absurd. The non calls changed the outcome of the game.
I share your frustration with the inconsistent officiating…but in no way, shape or form did these non-calls impact the outcome of the game IMHO.
The defense couldn’t get off to he field; I think the Saints held the ball for like 7-8 minutes in the 3rd quarter alone.
The offense didn’t do much outside of the 66-yard TD pass to CD. The running game was ineffective and too many short passes for minimal yardage.Dak was unable to stretch the field, unlike the Saints.
Dallas was out-of-synch and were out-schemed and out-coached; hard to overcome that still win.

Nope, I don't think the refs need to be referenced...they flat didn't enforce the rules that protected anyone flat abused while 'protecting the game.'

I can’t over the missed blatant face mask on Dowdle that would have given the Cowboys a first down at the 35 on New Orleans side after the Saints went up 7-0. Talk about a game changing no call.

Yes, they missed the facemask, they missed a hit to the face. Still not sure it was going to help us.

It wasn’t going to help. But giving a team a head start and confidence don’t hurt. At one point I was seeing them fight back. When Brooks fell and there was a pick it really took the wind out.

I didn't think the refs did a horrible job to be honest.

The early PI that people wanted called because the Saints player didnt look back is rarely called....If you flag LBs for not getting their heads around on underthrown balls you're going to have a flag fest.

The pass to Lamb was way off the mark. It came down 5 yards past Lamb and 2-3 yards out of bounds. No chance of anyone catching that one.

On the helmet to helmet if you watch the replay there is zero helmet contact there. That was a textbook hit by #5 on that play.
That early non-PI was almost exactly like the picked up flag for PI in the Detroit playoff game in 2014. Face guarding is not an infraction UNLESS the defender contacts the receiver. The defender only has to turn his head and play the ball if there’s contact with the receiver. They probably throw the flag had the ball been under-thrown and the receiver was prevented from reaching back for it or slowed and the defender didn’t.

They missed 2 facemask calls early on back to back drives. Officials can be screened out of seeing a penalty. It was just odd to miss 2 facemasks that close together.

well a one sided game will get one sided calls.

if the cowboys showed up, it would have been different.

they didn't. the rest is just noise.

NFL in 2024 has become Hollywood Cinema. Today the script didn't favor us.
