Anyone know why so much indecision at the Star?

Who knows. There are a few possibilities I can think of -

1 - They could be actually wanting Moore and are just waiting until Philly’s season ends.

2 - They could be arguing internally. Jerry may want one guy but the kids and people like McClay want another.

3 - Jerry could be dragging out the hire until a time when he can get the most media attention.

4 - They could just have no idea what they’re doing, and aren’t that concerned about getting a HC in here immediately because they’ll make truckloads of money whether they work with urgency or not.

I'm to the point of not understanding anything going on anymore

I get they wanted McCarthy back then he left, I get the hiring of Schottenheimer

I dont get why they havent made the hire yet? What are they waiting for?

How did this indecisive? Is Jerry unable to make a decision? Is he too old now? Is there infighting between Jerry and Stephen?

Anyone have any clue as to any of this? Theres no direction. Just a hire a dang HC and start moving in a direction. The more time they waste the harder it is for the next HC
Because their arrogant, stubborn, and they only want money

They have made the decision, it appears. But they have to be prepared for the initial blowback, which will be significant. People aren't going to like this. It's bad for business to roll out a dud without at least trying to justify it or promote it.
I get it but delaying it isnt going to eliminate the criticism

Premise A: There can be no other rational conclusion but that, if Schotty is the guy, it would already be done.

Premise B: It is not already done.

Conclusion: Schotty isn't the guy.

While everything points to Schotty being part of whatever is coming, everything also points to some other variable out there affecting the situation... and since Schotty isn't laid up in a hospital somewhere or we don't have any other ready explanation for how that variable may be Schotty-centric... it is most reasonable to believe the other variable is... a someone else.
They're just dawdling because no one else wants Schott. Jerry probably enjoys the power trip of making him wait.

They've never taken this long to hire a coach before
McCarthy soon after the season
All the other guys hired, except Johnson/ Switzer hired just after the season
Gailey took awhile. That was a cluster with even former UCLA coach Terry Donahue turning down JJs lowball offer.

So, your guess is that they're needing more time to get the natives calmer. Or, at least, to come up with a PR campaign that will be so very effective.

Got it.

Apparently the holdup in Jerry not wanting Schotty and Stephen wanting Schotty if you believe teh rumors
That's plausible if we got in the time machine, and were flies on the wall after their last meeting with Schotty going on 48 hours ago.

Today? What's left to discuss? Doesn't pass the smell test here, but free country.

And I see that Shan's weighing in again... the guy who probably has more of his street cred riding on this than anyone not named Clarence Hill at this point...

Plausible. But it doesn't really explain why you can't do that after announcing the HC. Not logically. Every HC that's been announced so far is... right now... assembling their staff.

And this is just absurd.

Jerry Jones is a flawed man, but some of these comments just seem to take that and run with it... far, far away, past left field, out of the ballpark.

How does that not make sense?

They need to justify the hiring to the fans, to the players, and to the media. They weren't prepared to make this decision but Mike forced their hand, and now they're scrambling.

If I had to guess, they probably want one to have one 'name' in hand that they can announce simultaneously with Schotty as HC, eg a Rex Ryan type coordinator. Contracts, PR--these things take time, and the last thing the Cowboys want is egg on their face while already making a lackluster announcement. Look at what happened to the Jags. They ended up getting their guy, but so mismanaged the process that his tenure is immediately marked.

Broaddus has a thumb on the pulse.

He does not appear to have any exceptional insight beyond that.

Let's be real. He said on-air sometime last week that Glenn would be interviewed. That Glenn would be very impressive and make it difficult for KM to get the job.

I do think he's right (obviously)... there is more option evaluating being performed, though the most reasonable other options are those who cannot be interviewed right now due to NFL rules.
