Anyone know why so much indecision at the Star?

What is this magic PR potion you envision that they envision?

Free country. You believe what you want. Can't buy it here even a little bit.
It's not magic. I've worked in PR. They need a message to justify to the market this decision is good beyond the fact that they chose him because 'he's cheap'. It can't look that way or fans won't buy tickets. You need to start the hype now, the best you can.

Ordinarily, they'd have had a message prepared because that's the reason you go after the guy in the first place. But this came together very haphazardly and I think they're scrambling because there is no message that the fans will accept.

Other teams seem to have gotten it done already. Not buying that either, just me.
Because they had a reason to hire the guy that wasn't just 'he took minimum wage'. Vrabel=right the ship/disciplinarian. Johnson=Genius to work with our QB. Coen=offensive genius work with franchise QB/resurrected Mayfield. Carroll=Experienced and revered head coach who's won a superbowl to go with new ownership and GM. Glenn=Leader of men to return Jets to glory he once knew as a player. What's Schotty's story?

Every single one of those decisions was guided by the desire to get a certain coach that would have a certain impact on their football team. We backed into ours because we didn't know what else to do and he was affordable. Some story.

I'm to the point of not understanding anything going on anymore

I get they wanted McCarthy back then he left, I get the hiring of Schottenheimer

I dont get why they havent made the hire yet? What are they waiting for?

How did this indecisive? Is Jerry unable to make a decision? Is he too old now? Is there infighting between Jerry and Stephen?

Anyone have any clue as to any of this? Theres no direction. Just a hire a dang HC and start moving in a direction. The more time they waste the harder it is for the next HC
Because no one wants the job, that is worth hiring, for the time, headache, and money that Jerral and Jerral Jr. want to pay.

not even just this coach stuff

why are they so slow with every thing

every contract extension, free agency, all of it they are slow and it just hurt them every time

If Shan is correct then they must be trying to swoon a top DC on staff. Only way to stomach the Schotty hire would be to bring a stud DC

Jerry's magic 8 ball is broke.

Premise A: There can be no other rational conclusion but that, if Schotty is the guy, it would already be done.

Premise B: It is not already done.

Conclusion: Schotty isn't the guy.

While everything points to Schotty being part of whatever is coming, everything also points to some other variable out there affecting the situation... and since Schotty isn't laid up in a hospital somewhere or we don't have any other ready explanation for how that variable may be Schotty-centric... it is most reasonable to believe the other variable is... a someone else.
lol
He is getting hired for sure

I think you need to see how Schottie turns out, he may be a good HC, I'm not saying he is or isnt but if he's similiar to his father you are going to see better run game and better defense. You are also going to see a more disciplined and consistent team. Question is can the front office get enough talent to help the HC?

It takes two to tango.

Its not like Jerry has to say yes and Schottenheimer will bow before him.

Dallas is not a good address and the payment is miserable.

I think that may be it..

They are deciding who is the rest of the staff.. for some reason I cant see Jerry telling Schott he can choose whomever he wants

I've posted about this twice...

THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. They don't have a true plan or road map. They don't have someone to lead this organization anymore. Jerry is too old and rich, Stephen isn't really in charge, Jerry Jr... no one really knew he existed until, like, yesterday. It's a rudderless ship....

I just wonder why none of that was true while he was already coaching the team?

If we draft a RB we are going to see a better run game, and a better defense by default.

Non-football guy in charge.

We really don't know that for sure. Word is they want to assemble a staff and are currently working on that.

And yes we all knew Jerry Jr. existed before yesterday.
