Very nice, persuasive argument.
People make posts like this when they know they have no dog in a fight and just want to be an @**

Against any defense, VY is just better.Shawn9 said:Yes against a PAC-10 DEFENSE

So you're saying that one game defines him as NFL-ready despite an entire season (and career, really) of underachieving? The NFL is very different from college, if you haven't noticed, and in the grand scheme one game doesn't mean much.

You are the one that has shown undying bias.
You lie in waiting not even talking about VY or lil Weggie, until your guy impresses against some mediocre competition, then he is the best athlete at qb in the nfl, and blah blah blah, hype hype hype. Reggie hasn't come up when it the games actually matter, and the hype people are giving him(again) is gonna blow up in their faces (again).
Ok as a aggie fan i witness this first hand.Tio said:Against any defense, VY is just better.

A career which involved breaking numerous school records, being selected national offensive player of the week 4 times in his career, playing his 3 best games against the 3 best teams he ever played, and doing all this in spite of not having a tenth of the talent Vince Young had around him? Yes
If you are going to make asinine statements, at least research the idiocy you are spewing

Nobody is denying McNeil is an athlete... you just went a step too far by declaring him the best athlete on NFL teams he hasn't even made it to yet. Hell, Akili Smith had a better college campaign than McNeil did and he turned out GREAT in the NFL. In the end, college accomplishments don't amount to much in the NFL. But hey, if you want to count crumbling to Baylor with a #16 ranking on the line, you can call him a winner all you want, but it won't make any more sense.
I'm sure the fact that you're an Aggie has NOTHING to do with any of this analysis either. Plus, you have to go to the other side of the token... you say he was playing against some of the best college competition, but was he not playing WITH some of these guys as well?
McNeil could very well end up as a solid NFL QB, but to claim you know you've got it all figured out is just stupid.
Now, if you want to rephrase your comment to "that have started in recent years" then I will be happy to disprove going by college stats.HeavyHitta31 said:Tom Brady

Don't know about the tire thing, but Vick can do all those things. Ofcourse, do you have numbers outside of ATM of this forty time? Do you have this "60 yards flat footed" and a tire video? More aggy hype.HeavyHitta31 said:He hasnt come up big in games that matter?
He single handedly beat #1 OU as freshman, and, had it not been for a 4th quarter injury, would havce beaten #1 OU again in 2004.
He destroyed #16 OSU on the road in 2004, played an excellent game to beat #20 Texas tech in 2004, I could go on, but you get the idea
And do me this: If you can name one guy, ONE guy, in the NFL who can run a 4.3, throw the ball 60+ yards flat footed, can throw a ball through a tire at a distance of 25 yards, and has a 35" vertical, I'll back down and never say anything about Reggie again.
I dont know were i forgot it but he did it outside of A&M, i cant remember where and know its going to bug me it was a 4.28Tio said:. Ofcourse, do you have numbers outside of ATM of his forty time? .
2004 heh? Well I guess that is the source to all the problem, 2004 was two seasons ago and if you can't see the difference between that VY and last seasons one, then I can't help you. However if you want to argue Mcneal could improve like that, be my guest.HeavyHitta31 said:Damn Tio, you are just making this too easy:
In 2004, Vince and "Weggie" both played OU's defense. Vince Had an INT, several fumbles, and did nothing all day with more talent than McNeal had. Later that same year, McNeal had over 200 yards passing, 50 yards rushing, and 4 total TDs IN ONE HALF.
This season, Vince Young couldnt do ANYTHING against the worst defense in CF, Texas A&M
Owning you is starting to feel like getting lucky with Jenna Jamison. Yeah its nice, but its so easy that it almost takes the fun out of it...almost...
HeavyHitta31 said:McNeal had 2 passing TDs and over 350 yards of total offense against Baylor in 2004, not to mention leading the game tying drive not once, but twice in the 4th quarter. Our defense lost that game, not Reggie. Care you revise this post yet? If not, you will in a few moments...
First of all, if you are going to argue that OU, Texas, etc. didnt have far more talent than A&M during Reggie's time, I wont even waste my time with you. Second I have NEVER, EVER, NOT ONCE, claimed that I know McNeal will be a good NFL QB. I said he has the ability to be a good QB in the NFL, and that he can in fact play QB at the next level. But go ahead, keep making stuff up, it makes my job of making you look like the one in a dark cave with a wet match all that much easier.
I''l ask you the same thing I asked Tio (whom I think has been beaten so badly in this thread that he wont be posting in it again), if you can name 1 guy in the NFL with the athlicism Reggie has, I wont say anything more about it.
Please show me, I would consider it an amazing feat....Shawn9 said:I dont know were i forgot it but he did it outside of A&M, i cant remember where and know its going to bug me it was a 4.28
Hold up I will try and find it. I remember reading about it.Tio said:Please show me, I would consider it an amazing feat....
