Anyone still think Reggie McNeal can't play QB in the NFL?

Now, if you want to rephrase your comment to "that have started in recent years" then I will be happy to disprove going by college stats.

Guess what? Brooks started for most of the eyar, and even if you consider Bouman their starter now, McNeal did better than him too. Strike 1

J.P. Losman is the starter of the future for Buffalo, but McNeal also did better than Holcombe if you consider him the starter. Strike 2

Gus Frerotte is the starter in Miami. Don't believe me? http://www.miamidolphins.com/lockerroom/depthchart/depthchart.asp
Strike 3

Now, even though you are out of strikes, I'll be happy to give you one more punch in the gut before I'm done:

Trent Dilfer is the starter in Cleveland. And even if you want try the Charlie Frye card because he played some, you guessed it, MvNeal did better than him as well

If you want to play with the big boys, you better know what you are talking about

Hold up I will try and find it. I remember reading about it.
Ok, my bad it was during Summer Timing. and it was a 4.3 but reports had a 4.28

A few weeks ago, Franchione sat at a table during the Big 12 media days and humbly said McNeal ran a legitimate 4.3 40 in summer timing. Not a pencil moved. A day later, when told of a teammate's alleged sub-4.3 40 time, Young defiantly responded, "Ain't nobody on this team faster than me." The assembled throng of media giggled and feverishly scribbled on notepads before launching into a series of Heisman Trophy questions.

He also threw a pick in a killer situation in that game, so it wasn't all rosey.

And does "he can play QB at the next level" not equate to "he will be a good QB at the next level?" I don't see the difference there.

My main point is well yeah, of course he has the tools to do well in the NFL. There are over 30 D-1 QB's that have the tools to do well at the next level, but it doesn't mean they will.

He threw a pick early in the 3rd quarter with A&M up by 2 scores. Yeah, real "killer" situation

If you don't see the difference, that is just a case you you being a simple minded fool. Trent Dilfer can play QB at the next level, but no one would call him good. Same with almost every backup and even some starters in the NFL.

Yes, and the pick ended up being what got Baylor back in the game and ultimately propelled them to a win.

You need to calm down when you argue and treat people like equals. You really show your age, but I guess that is to be expected in a forum like this. Calling people you know nothing about "fools" is a really dumb way to approach anything.

But anyway, if all you were saying is "he can play at the next level," I don't know why you even bothered to make a thread. That's like saying the president of the US has power... it's a pretty "um.. duh?" situation.

Don't know about the tire thing, but Vick can do all those things. Ofcourse, do you have numbers outside of ATM of this forty time? Do you have this "60 yards flat footed" and a tire video? More aggy hype.

I take back my statement of meaningful games, the guy was just soft this year.

I figured you would play the Vick card, however I am sorry to inform you that you are, once again, wrong.

Vick runs a 4.4, while McNeal has been unofficially clocked at 4.3. Now, take the unofficial times with a grain of salt, however right now there is no evidence that Vick is faster than McNeal.

Vick has terrible accuracy, couldnt even hit the tire at 15 yards.

Vick's vertical was 27" coming into the NFL

The 60 yards flat footed?

He is standing at his own 38 on that throw

The tire thing I saw for myself at Spring preactice 2 years ago

A lot of players have the ability to become good QBs, but how many have his God given talents, AND the potential to be good/great?

That is the point you seem to be missing

More athletic than Romo?

McNeal is more athletic than any QB in the NFL today. Whoever drafts him, he will be the best athlete on that team from day 1.

Are you seriously kidding me? Have you ever heard of that guy in atlanta that wears #7? Ya know that Vick kid

No, I am not kidding you, and no, Vick is not more athletic. McNeal is faster, can throw farther, can jump higher, etc.

Vick's speed is overrated. He only runs a 4.4, which is fast, but the difference between 4.3 and 4.4 is like the difference between a Pinto and a Porsche

Vick's speed is overrated? Please... Vick is faster and quicker than Reggie McNeal. College 40 times are always inflated. Vick ran a 4.2 in college, so the difference between a 4.2 and a 4.3 is like comparing a porsch to a pinto eh? :lmao2:
