Man, his fall from grace has been hard and sudden. Wade has more supporters than him: by FAR. Didn't think I'd see that any time soon...

I'd like to know what sources around the league feel Garrett is ready to be a head coach. I remember hearing some talk of this around the time Jerry hired him, mostly that he was considered very bright and someone to watch, but are there any GMs on record as saying they'd hire him for that position if he was available (aside from our own)?

My feeling is that Garrett needs more time. Is it that people feel he'd be a great motivator/organizer as opposed to a great coordinator? This year's performance would seem to dampen the enthusiasm on the latter.

I don't know. I like what Wade and Stewart have done for this defense esp considering all the instability with the DBs.

I like what Red has done for the offense although obviously Romo is responsible for a lot of the success.

I don't even know why we're talking about this since the season is not over. We still have a chance to make some noise here.

The same idiots who blame JGarrett are the same ones to come to the Clown Wade Phillips' defense by mentioning all the injuries.

It's a two-way street. If Wade's record has been affected by injuries, then, JGarrett has too.

Can't have it both ways.

And how quickly we forget: In the first half of the season when our offense was humming like a well-tuned-up Mercedes, the Clown Wade Phillips and his lackey Stew were mucking it up on the defense. for Wade to entrust this sterling group of defenders with Stew is beyond reason.
But where was the whining about Garrett then?
As i recall, the whining was about Wade and his lackey Stew.

All of the sudden, Wade is the guy. Despite the December swoon that might yet come and despite his dispassionate, who-cares demeanor on the sidelines.

If you like Wade, then by all means. You really, really deserve him.
In JGarrett I trust.
And when Wade rides into the sunset of mediocrity, Jerra would be more of a fool to let JGarrett go. Because the Skins and Dolls would love to have Garrett.

I still do. Two days later I'm past wanting to gut the whole coaching staff and do over. :)

I still think Red can make a really good HC if given the opportunity but he should have the power to put together his own coaching staff top to bottom...

I think he has fallen in the eye of some. When or if the time comes he is named HC we will see what kind of staff he puts together and how the team responds.

Call me crazy... I want to blame the lack of execution on THE PLAYERS

You know, Romo does not always throw to the open man. we have too many guys running open a lot, while he forces balls to Witten and Owens.

I do not believe they make a point to feed Owens or Witten, I believe that is just Romo.

I heard something today from Norm Hitzges, that got me to thinking that he may be on to something.

First I reflected back to the Skins game that we lost, when Romo kept audibling out of the run plays, 14 of them.

So, while we want to blame bad play calling on Garrett, maybe it is not him, maybe it is the QB, not making the right reads, or not taking what the defense gives him, at times that he should just settle for that.

What elaboration is there? I don't view him the same as over reactionary fans. Is that enough?

Your reasons were what I was looking for but that snappy answer will suffice I guess.

I still like Garrett. He is young and bright and he has a good offensive scheme. He seems to have a good eye for staff, assuming he picked the offensive staff.

The one area I now have questions about is the Brad Johnson pick - that worries me.

I think what most people don't like about this team is its identity. This is a big play team. We are not a grind it out team. That is not our talent. Owens and Romo, the playmakers on offense, are streaky. Streaky players are hard to coach. You have to give them opportunities while closely watching if they are "on". If they are "on", you have no problems, if they aren't you have to go against your identity, this is hard to do. Add to that, that no coach is infallible and you can see the problems.

I still like Jason's background, knowledge, and demeanor. I also like that he gets along with Jerry and knows what he getting into in that regard. I would like to know more about him before I fully endorsed him - but he gets way more blame than he deserves.

I think he knows the game and will figure it out to the best advantage of this team. Anyone who thinks we will be better off without him is going simply on their own emotions, not facts. I would rather he figure it out with us than with someone else who could beat us.

Thanks. I too am on the Garrett team, and was wondering why you felt the same way I did. Didn't understand the "hostility" when I asked. :)
