I was a youngster in Sanders prime but I seen the later years and he was good at covering and complete trash at tackling. To me some of These older Legends tend to get exaggerated to no limits.

Not sure how that can be. The 1992 Cowboys are a top 10 team of all-time unquestionably but in that game against the Falcs where we trounced them we scored 3 passing TDs and had only 239 yards passing. The passing TDs went to Kelvin Martin, Alvin Harper and Jay Novacek. At worst Deion gave up the one TD reception.

Irvin had 6 for 89 yards and Harper 3 for 53.

I don't see how anyone could argue we attacked anyone.

Dallas was good enough not to have to shy away from anyone but the stats are the stats and our guys had no more than average days. Wade Wilson on the other side passed for 100 more yards than Aikman. Emmitt had 174 yards rushing and 2 TDs.

Lol at all these people claiming we torched Deion when he was a Falcon. So full of crap. And Irvin didn't do anything against Deion in the 94 playoff game. The hell were some of you watching?

Not surprisingly, he got alot better after he left Atlanta, where he was a very good player, but once he had the bogus 1yr deal in SF and then came here (prior to toe injury) he was on another level. He was never the same after that toe injury though.

Primetime was the man: a TRUE playmaker on defense. He made a dramatic difference for the 49ers in 1994 (Defensive Player Of The Year, I believe), and he came to the Cowboys in 1995 and helped make a good defense into an even better defense. He literally took away one side of the field, and some of the elite QBs in the league were very reluctant to test him. Primetime was no one to be toyed with.

Also, let us not forget that he was multi-faceted and could even be a threat on the offensive side of the ball.

I don't see how any REASONABLE football fan would call Primetime "overrated." To each his own opinion, though.

Irvin was covered largely by Eric Davis with Tim McDonald over the top in that game. Sanders was manned up on Alvin Harper for most of the game, and then switched to Irvin in the fourth quarter. The 49ers had been burned more by Harper on big plays in the previous games against SF than Irvin, and took their chances in using Sanders to eliminate Harper.

Harper had 1 catch for 15 yards in the game.
