Anyone watch Joey Bosa play?

There are definitely other options besides Bosa if the FO decides they'd prefer to pass on him.

Shaq Lawson would possibly be of prime interest to the Cowboys if they chose to move down.

Bosa is not Greg Ellis. Only Broaddus is dumb enough to even say that. Remember, there's a reason he's on the radio and not in the war rooms any more. Even Brugler, his buddy, laughed the first time he said that.

Everyone who follows the draft had Bosa among the top 2 or 3 players in the entire draft when the season ended. It's only after all this over analysis brought about by the media needing to generate clicks for 4 months has Bosa fallen, and even then he's only fallen in the minds of some fans.

More busts and misses are created by believing what you see from players running in underwear instead of what you saw from players actually, I don't know, playing football.

He was the #1 overall ranked player on CBS rankings from mid November until shortly after the season, up to the combine. But he has always been in the top 4 on just about every ranking.
Like you said top 2 or 3 on all the boards, unless someone had an agenda on a board that doesn't matter. LOL.

It's like the #1 hit song...some one some where will hate it and just can't figure out why it's number 1. Even against there better judgement.

It will be interesting on what they will do if Bosa,JR and EE are all there at 4,would they even consider a small trade and and still get one of the 3 or take the top player on their board.

I think it depends on who really makes that decision. It may not be fair but I always think of him as Trader Jerry before anything else. Just loves making deals.

Bosa is not a reach at 4, he would be a reach if the consensus was he should go in the teens. Then I hear he is only so high on the boards because it is a bad year for 4-3 DE's.

This is not how they rank players, they score them, they don't say hey no DE's in this draft so we need to rank Bosa higher.

He is a consensus top 5 pick.

You may disagree and have your own opinion, but there is not much disagreement from the experts that he is a top 5 player.

here is what the scouts say about him

"He's the real deal. If anyone tries to tell you anything different, don't listen to them. They're lying to you. This guy can do it all. He dominates games like no other player in this draft.''
"He's a top-three, top-four player. He could be the first pick in the draft. If we had the No. 1 pick, he would be. He's very strong. He can play the run and he rushes the passer well.''
"He reminds me of a young Jared Allen. He's a very good athlete. He's strong, a tough guy. I like that. And he's got a good motor."

If the FO thinks he's has more upside to being a potential JJ Watt type rusher than downside you have to pull the trigger since he's a consensus top-5 pick knowing that both QBs will be gone by the time pick #4 rolls around.

Because he's white, or because of the pedigree?

My only problem with bosa is his drug history and now I'm hearing rumors he pulled a Randy Gregory and failed a drug test at the combine. I remember in October/November last year this guy was being compared to JJ Watt.. He took double and triple teams in college.. I dunno man the drugs issues scare me..

Me too. If we draft this guy and then I read a headline that says, "Bosa suspended X games for violating NFL drug policy," I swear I'll smash my face into an anvil. Maybe if I get a lobotomy it will be easier to be a Dallas Cowboys fan. I'm so tired of players we need to be successful having to sit on the sidelines because they did something stupid. I wish it were possible to have some kind of contract clause to the effect of, "If you get suspended for 4 games, the next 4 games after that you play for free." Here's hoping Bosa isn't like the idiots.

Let's go ahead and take Bosa. If the entire DL should be suspended for four games, we'll just make lemonade and call it a month-long team-building exercise. :)

at number 4 you don't normally take a DE unless he's an elite pass rusher. Unfortunately there isn't that player in this draft and we also have a desperate need. So Bosa might be the pick and he might be the best decision for Dallas of we can't get a trade down.

Bosa makes your defense better for a decade or so, when in doubt I always go defense.

That's the majority of it (why he isn't a unanimous top 5 pick by "fans"), he's limited to LE/Nickle DT pass rusher instead of being the RE/legit 3 tech you want in a blue chipper. I doubt a LE would go over a RE with the same contextual potential @ 4th overall. What if Lawrence and Gregory come back and prove to be more talented/game ready than Bosa? Good rotation, but not what I wanted from the 4th pick. I would be okay w/Bosa if we didn't already have 2 DEs w/suspensions looming..........no need to add a 3rd w similar history in that regard.

I've only seen highlights of Bosa I've heard at least a couple of draft experts say he wouldn't be a top 10 pick in other drafts. The highlights I've seen of him haven't wowed me.

We reached for Ellis @ 8, now we're thinking of taking a similar player in Bosa @ 4. He better have the character Ellis had (that is questionable; don't you dare think of getting busted). Not thrilling tbh but would love the pick if we were in the 15 range instead of 4th overall. Hope to trade down w/Tunsil there and get another 2nd/1st next year depending on how far we drop and get Lawson/Lynch or Joseph in the late 1st. Then you can look @ Dodd/Henry/DL-BPA @ 34, etc.

Ellis didn't have the power game, the gamut of moves, the ability to get off blocks, or the explosiveness off the line of Bosa. Ellis played weakside and tried to dip through over and again.

Other than the good not great emotional generalization or baseless predictions about future production can you name anything about Greg Ellis that is similar to Joey Bosa?

They both don't project to play RE in the NFL and aren't great pass rushers?
