Anything that's part of the spine is a concern. Are you a doctor?

Even if you're not a doctor you could read this thread and the articles linked to it and get a very good idea this isn't the same as a fracture to the part of the spine that protects the cord. And you'd realize the cord is in no danger.

Normally we don't react strongly to fractures of the spinous or transverse processes unless they also involve the structural integrity of the spine protecting the cord. Several posts have stated his ability to play would relate to his ability to function; and some were by medical doctors.

I want to first thank everyone who helped me to win the internet today.
It's a tremendous honor, but I wouldn't be standing here if it wasn't for you.
Thank you. Seriously. I love you all.

Now- let's be serious for a moment.
I really want to thank myself.
Without myself I really wouldn't be here.
Thank me. Seriously. I love me.

This got a seriously good chuckle.

WTH!?!? I don't know what this is but I feel real bad for Tony and I am really upset. Mostly because I don't known how this is going to affect his career and life after. It doesn't sound good.

Bummer.
If this side bone fracture reverts him back to the mobility and accuracy he had in the first couple weeks, just sit him down.

Even if it's not a serious injury we don't have a good idea right this moment what this injury could mean to the rest of Romo's season. To the fan who claimed this injury is no big deal it could end up being a very big deal if in a few days it's being reported that Romo could be out the next 4 to 6 weeks or even the remainder of the season. What's being reported is very concerning because it may be an injury that has to be completely healed or further damage could occur. There's going to be opposing players out there looking to take Romo out with this injury. Anymore direct hits to his back and gosh knows what might happen. .

If anyone watched Romo walking to tunnel after his injury....you don't walk like that with contusion (bone bruise) you walk that way when you have bad back and someone just injured it again. I am not selfish enough that I need to see Romo in wheelchair because I need my sunday fix with cowboys win. There are other people who can play QB and it can still be entertaining. Who knows - maybe Weeden surprises us.

I believe I heard Todd Archer say on ESPN that if Romo plays then this injury can't be damaged any further, but I'm not 100% sure. Might of heard wrong.

Romo is one tough son of a gun but rest until after the bye, Cowboys are in a position nobody thought they would be. We cannot complain where Dallas is in the win column only be concerned for him as a human being and take it one day at a time.

Because you are normally consistently one of the more positive posters, especially during the winning streak, I'm going with your outlook that it's very likely far more terrible than others on here think.

Thanks for your levels headed fair opinion.

According to some I'm consistently one of the more negative posters especially during the streak. lol

A lot of things are being reported and what's being reported today may be reported differently tomorrow and in the coming days. This is one of those things we're just going to have to hold our breath on because who knows what news we may wake up to in the coming days.

I'm sorry to sound like a homer but to break bones in your back requires someone to hit you very hard. I'm putting it out there that the guy who kneed him in the back was trying to hurt his back again.

I feel very bad for Romo. He is a great QB that has never got his due and I have been hoping he would win the big game and get the monkey off his back. This is not good.
