Anything that's part of the spine is a concern. Are you a doctor?
Even if you're not a doctor you could read this thread and the articles linked to it and get a very good idea this isn't the same as a fracture to the part of the spine that protects the cord. And you'd realize the cord is in no danger.
Normally we don't react strongly to fractures of the spinous or transverse processes unless they also involve the structural integrity of the spine protecting the cord. Several posts have stated his ability to play would relate to his ability to function; and some were by medical doctors.
