Maybe a few years ago but not at this moment. You need players like Williams, his blocking doesn't get any credit. Zeke doesn't score on that screen against Pittsburg without Williams.

Maclin would upgrade the WR2, but I doubt the marginal return vs targets would be worth the price.

TWill showed loyality and Maclin is a former first round draft pick and has been to the pro bowl in 2014.

Maclin was set to make $10MM this year alone. Williams signed a 4 year $17MM deal.

Obviously Maclin is the better player. I'd prefer to have Williams at the price.

Also this is another indictment on @xwalker's silly rant against Dez. A team that has super bowl aspirations isn't willing to pay Maclin 70% of what we (a team with super bowl aspirations) is willing to pay Dez.

I think maclin is an older version of dez. His best years were when he had a DJax opposite him. He is not overly fast and makes.up for it in route.running. Dez is more athletic and violent but is not a top popping we. Dez would benefit from a real burner opposite him and Ma cl in does not fit that role.

It is still kind of questionable that getting Williams back on a cheap deal keeps you from addressing a superior player.

And it is pretty much a fact, Maclin is better.

It'd make sense. Continuity for one of the most successful offenses in the league, and continuity for your 2nd year QB.
