http://www.bloggingtheboys.com/2017...-for-jeremy-maclin-free-agency-2018-nfl-draft

Just read this article. I'd rather spend the money of the Dline, but wouldn't be opposed to having a decent receiver. He's better then Twill. Then again that's a lot of receivers to carry on the team, but I'll let the GM worry bout that

I think Maclin is a good WR, but I'm satisfied with what we have there, id rather give Zach his extensionand if the WRs start to disappoint there should be some talented guys available after cuts. JMO.

I like the idea of Maclin, although I doubt Da Boys would want to offer more than what another team might. He'd likely be an upgrade over Butler, though. As far as Jeremy's talent level is concerned, he's plenty good enough to help us, given sufficient time to absorb our offense. Bottom line, however, he's certainly not likely to blend in with our FO's frugal ways. Sigh , , , ;)

We need a pass rusher (if we're gonna spend, and that should be looked at next year.), not another WR.

Especially one that may cost $5-7 mil AAV, and probably looking for ~3 years.

I'd pass, but that's just me. We have a solid group at WR.

Make our offense more potent. I'm all for it

he and twill are about the same type of player. just don't see a need for both. we made a call, move on and put the $ elsewhere.

You have to be trolling about him and Twill being even close the same

And if we get a guy who can get 20 sacks in one season, and Dallas wins the Super Bowl this year(YES,YES,YES,), someone on this board will say this guy is no good against the run and want to get rid of him !!! :lmao2::lmao::lmao2::lmao2::lmao:

Not to mention he has no position flex.

The comparison should be to Dez not to Williams.

I like Williams more than most fans but he is a limited player.

Exactly, when Dez has been out of the lineup TWill has never shown he could be a #1. Maclin has done that in more than one full NFL season.

JMO but there is no question Maclin walks in at WR2 and probably pushes Butler off the 53.

Haha at Maclin being on Dez level.....haha

Maclin has had terrible QBs.

Let's look back at the last time each played all 16 games. It happens that they both last played 16 in 2014.

Yards and receptions were near even. Dez had 2 more yards on 3 more receptions.

Maclin had more TDs while Foles was his QB, but his TDs dropped drastically with Sanchez.

QB career TD rate:
Romo 31 per 16 starts
Foles 24 per 16 starts
Sanchez 19 per 16 starts

Maclin
Rec ….. 85
Yds ….. 1,318
Avg ….. 15.5
Lng ….. 72
TD (Foles, first 9 games) ….. 8
TD (Sanchez, last 7 games) ….. 2

Dez
Rec ….. 88
Yds ….. 1320
Avg ….. 15
Lng ….. 68
TD (first 9 games) ….. 6
TD (last 7 games) ….. 10

See my next post for more stats.

The past 2 years Maclin has played in KC with Alex Smith at QB.

QB career TD rate:
Alex Smith 18 per 16 starts
Romo 31 per 16 starts

QB career yards per 16 games:
Alex Smith: 3,276
Romo: 4,306

Maclin
Starts: 27
Rec: 131 (rate of 77.6 per 16 games)
Yards: 1624 (rate of 962 per 16 games)
TD: 10 (rate of 6 per 16 games)

Dez
Starts: 22
Rec: 81 (rate of 58.9 per 16 games)
Yards: 1197 (rate of 870 per 16 games)
TD: 11 (rate of 8 per 16 games)

You embarrasses yourself when you compare Dez and Maclin. And to use the last two years as any type of comparison given that Dez has been injured or playing with a rookie QB who was focused on short and intermediate routes in a running offense discredits you.

Furthermore do you think defensive coordinators treat them the same?

Finally why do you list his QB as being Alex Smith as if that's some kind of insult. Alex Smith is a very good QB. In his last seven seasons he's had a 90 qb rating or higher 6 times. The other season he was at 89. Carson Wentz he is not.

Did Dez steal your girlfriend?

Sorry man, but I cannot agree with this. Never seen Maclin on the highlight films consistently jumping up, adjusting his route, and grabbing balls in mid-air...ala Randy Moss style. Dez is special....a little hard headed, but special. Maclin is a pretty good player but I wouldn't call him special.
