Are there really fans that would rather still have Garrett?

Clapper won't use Barkley just like he didn't use DeMarco Murray when he was calling plays. He's going to wear Daniel Jones' arm out. Garrett being OC of the Giants is the best thing the Cowboys could have asked for.

And Jones is on his own at this point too. He either sinks or swims by himself. This guy doesn't develop young quarterbacks.

Poor Barkley. Criminally underused under Shurmur to criminally underused by Garrett.

Some guys are just cursed when they get to the NFL.

No one has a crystal ball. But there is no way McCarthy will get out coached 16 times a year. There is no way McCarthy will botch the kicking position and cost the Cowboys at least 2-3 games this year. The team will be better prepared and the in-game adjustments will improve. Given all that, it's a HUGE reach to say McCarthy won't do much better.

No way.

But I look forward to what the next set of excuses will then be.

Yeah, I'm really going to miss those two Wildcard wins over the past decade.

Now his groupies can jump up and down and scream "its not his fault" all they want, but you are either part of the problem or part of the solution.

Jason Garrett had a decade and proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that he was not part of the solution, so what does that leave?

We’ll get to see which side is jumping up and down and screaming, soon enough. Since the HC ‘problem’ is officially solved, we’ll see what happens next. It should be really exciting.

Hey buddy, how you doing.

You are right, we will get to see if MM can "get the team over the hump" as Steven Jones said about Garrett, who obviously failed to do it.

That is if we have a season at all, but that is a discussion for the other forum.

Just getting everybody on record. We’ve heard for so long how the issue is coaching. We hire a SB winning coach and half the forum immediately backtracked and asked for three years for him to win with the “Superbowl roster” Garrett failed with last season.

Good for you for having the courage of your own convictions. I can’t wait to see how it plays out.

nah remember we dont live in the past his resume is past tense as he was fired and his last team was better off for it. He has to prove his worth and quick or he will be gone in 4 years or less..

That's what I just said, "if MM doesn't meet expectations they'll fire him and get someone else."
WHY? Because McCarthy can't rely on nepotism to protect his job like Garrett did!

Even if McCarthy isn't any better, at least he won't be here 10 stinking years.

Exactly! That's why people hate Garrett as a HC, 10 freaking years! We've had other HCs that needed to be replaced so they were replaced. The Cowboys didn't keep 'em for 10 years like they did Garrett because they weren't "entitled" like Garrett.
Garrett was kept for his family ties despite his lack of success. We couldn't get rid of him.

Now wait a minute Idgit, if it was okay to wait TEN years for Garrett to win a SB and he STILL hasn't done it, what's wrong with some MM guys asking for THREE? o_O

Big dog that's worth a double LIKE! You're right on the money. We've had excellent, good, bad and in-between players and Garrett botched games with 'em all so they can't just blame it on players, COACHING MATTERS!

The difference is *I* wasn’t saying the issue holding us back for ten years was coaching. The rest of you guys have been blaming coaching entirely for ten years.

Then, as soon as the coach changes, can’t backpedal fast enough to point out all the other things that have to go right for a team to actually get over the hump.

Yeah but if you have a good coach, 10 years ought to be enough, right?
