Are we going to be able to build a super bowl contender w/ Jayon and LVE?

Serious question. Logically, I'd say we almost have to dump both and start over at the LB position before we can build a super bowl D. Can those guys be a part of a top 5 D? Serious doubts here.
Unequivocally.....NO.

No. they will not admit they were wrong, they will move on to the next subject. Depend who is playing just slightly below par, and they will rag on him for the year.

We won’t have to move on. Neither one will get back to 2018 form. They’re done.

Dont give up on LVE yet..

He’s still flashed at times.

Jaylon is a lost cause.
But I often put players in different situations and imagine.
What if Jaylon was in KC, Miami, GB.. would he still be a bust?

Yea, if we keep these LB’s , assuming we go defense in 1st round , I’d bet CB.
Well, Quinn worked for a guy in SEA that handpicked that secondary so that would not be surprise. Quinn is well aware of the numbers they had that Legion of Boom. They led the league in coverage sacks and hurries, which played right into their hands.

There are two HC's that realized how the evolution of the pass game was going to affect defenses, Belichick and Carrol and both have been obsessed with the secondary.

Just my opinion but I think the reason Brady developed that quick release was by Belichick's design with his secondary Make him go against quick cover guys and above all, be decisive.

Jaylon has a physical problem..

He can come down hill and sideways but having to turn and back pedal hurts the entire defense because he can’t physically do it at a NFL level.

He also does some really stupid stuff when it comes to gap assignments.

So no I think only a coach that plays him to his 2 strengths can help him.

Glad you got it all figured out there bubba. :muttley:

I will see what happens this next season. Who knows, Jaylon may get released but I doubt it. Maybe Quinn inspires them and the entire defense.
Right now I am not getting my hopes up, nor down, until I see the results on the field, in real games, after 4 games or so.

Also that depends on FA and the draft, as if it looks like they will improve talent wise. So I may change my opinion / attitude accordingly, but not by much.

There are a lot of problems. First off, LVE only plays half the time. Then you have Jaylon's contract. Before you even play a game you have some significant issues.

I think with fantastically better line play and a generally better scheme that the two of them would be . . . . OK but they certainly aren't a strength.

I will say this, I sure hope Dallas doesn't waste a high draft pick trying to fix the position. They have much bigger problems at DT, S and CB. I just don't think LB is as important as other positions nowadays where most downs are passing downs.

I sure hope that Jerry doesn't give LVE an extension. Paying him 10m per year to recover from the 3 plays he was on the field is such a Jerry thing to do.
You say that but we get beat yearly by running backs screens and flats. Washington this year and Minnesota 2019 games were embarassing.

they've led a top 10 defense before they can do it again

but if they play like they did last year i'd trade both.......they were absolutely 2 of the worst linebackers in the NFL idk if it was scheme or what but they were awful and the DT play made it much worse to look at

Chill man they both are fine, we need to beef up the interior line
LVE can't stay on the field. Jaylon has very obvious agility problems.

I think maybe you should chill and don't enter discussions you're not interested in being a part of.

They were both part of a top 8 unit 2 years ago with a DL that mostly stunk.
Maybe other teams figured out how to expose them?

Oh, and LVE is a topnotch player, but can't stay healthy. That's not a good thing at MLB.

I would prefer we draft a starter in the first three rounds and make LVE and Jaylon compete for the other two spots. Loser goes to Sam.

Even if they both rebound, we need another starting caliber LB. Might as well go big.

We don't need a top 5 d to win a Superbowl. Give me 3 players up the middle of the defense to go along with what we have and were ready
Would you be willing to pass on Dak for those three players up the middle?

Patrick Peterson or Xavier Rhodes at SS with Suh and Watt at DT

yes but you have to have the D Tackles to take the heat off both of them.
