Are we that far off talent wise from the Giants?

Having great effect and being the “only reason” why a team won are two different things. You are moving the goalpost. Are you just saying that Dak was very effective playing QB against the Giants? Or are you trying to attribute the win solely to Dak Prescott?
I’m not trying to attribute the win solely to Dak. I shouldn’t have used the word only. I’ll put it this way he was the “main” reason we won. Our defense kept them out of the endzone which certainly contributed to the win but the game ultimately came down to the play of the QBs. Dak completed 80% and our only two TDs were TD passes. Jones had an INT and couldn’t get the Giants in the endzone. That was the difference in the game. We scored a couple of TDs and they didn’t score any.

They messed up not paying Barkley. Plus I’m wondering if Daboll is overrated. He thinks Daniel Jones is Josh Allen for some strange reason.
They didn’t mess up letting Barkley go.

It was the right move for both sides.

Crappy teams have no business drafting RBs in round 1 and paying them 15 million dollars.

That’s not how you build a football team.

They had no business drafting Barkley. He was a luxury that they couldn’t afford and did nothing for them in his stay.

Yet San Fran traded multiple picks and paid McCaffery big money. Meanwhile we trot out Rico Dowdle and Giants Singletary…..

Vikings spent money on Aaron Jones, Texans spent money on Mixon, Philly on Barkley, GB on Jacob’s…..all of a sudden RB matters,

We had a better D under Dan Quinn hands down. There was real swagger. Only thing DQ could not due was stop the run. They however had a ton of sacks and a ton of turn overs. That said, we had more talent up front last year. We lost some guys who were replaced with less talented players. Our secondary was much better last year. Bland was all pro and Gilmore played at a high level. Even with Diggs back now, we had a better secondary last year.
Because of our "talent," our defensive coordinators have to choose between stopping the run or pressuring the QB. Quinn chose pressure. Zimmer in this game chose stopping the run. It's tough enough doing either in the NFL, especially since the rules favor the offense, but unless you have talent all across your front seven, you are not going to be able to do both.

San Fran had a well built team and they are paying their QB 7th round money.

The Giants were hot garbage when they drafted Barkley and are hot garbage now.

It was moronic for them to draft him and paying him would be even more moronic.

Especially considering the guy is often not available to even play football.

I’m not taking about drafting him. I said they should’ve re-signed him. They would be 3-1 right now with Barkley. Running backs matter;

Overall skill players and coaching staff we are closer to the Giants than playoff contender teams.

I thought we would slaughter Giants. I am extremely concerned about our team this year. If Barclay was on the Giants they probably would have won. We were fairly evenly matched other than QB where we are superior. I don't know if we are that bad, or they are that good. Time will tell. I'm kind of anxious to see us against Washington, and Philadelphia.

Because I’m not seeing it. I see playmakers all over there…Nabers, Robinson, Singletary, Andrew Thomas….

Defensively I see Thibadeaux, Lawrence….Adoree Jackson who was hurt…

I’m reading about how we should’ve beat them by 30 like last season….talent wise…you maybe can argue they are just as good as us or better and the difference in the game was Daniel Jones making errant throws on potential touchdowns.

They did nothing this offseason and even a team who we consider to be in the basement is closer to us in talent than we thought.
did nothing, drafted nabers, signed burns, singletary, to be honest, we're probably on their level maybe slightly better, having the star gives you at least 7 wins a season lol

Hey, they all were in the best shape of their lives & had outstanding camps. Quite the flex until they take the field against an opponent.
So easy to say this during practices in the off seasons when you're not going full speed against the SAME guys you've been going against all summer/camps etc, when it comes to ACTUAL opponents you see what's happening for real

We are not good. They are not good. Somebody had to win. That's basically the story of that game.

Worse, we lost 2 of our best defenders on a bad defense.

We are a undisciplined, poorly coached team with schemes that are easily blocked and attacked.
Personnel aren't going to make a difference until those things are corrected.

I bet NYG beats the Eagles soon. They are a pretty good ball club just people don't give them regards.

Zimmers approach is different than DQ. He's all bend don't break. What was a little alarming last night the front four we're getting no pressure.
I suppose thats when you dial up some blitz.

Zimmer was late on that too. They have 10 days to rest and figure out a better game plan for getting pressure.
And that may be the case too. Maybe Giants are better than we think.

They have the better D-line. They have the better O-line. I think ours will be better as the young guys gain experience. Except Steele, he's just not good. They're skill players as a whole are better. When healthy we have better LB's and secondary. Like him or not Dak is light years better than Jones.

Both qbs dinked and dunked.....we pay one 60 million and they pay the other 40 Mil.

Both teams suck in the trenches where games are decided

I wouldn't be shocked if Washington finishes 2nd
What’s special about Commanders? They were a fumble away from losing to the Giants lol.

That’s the only thing separating us from them. Is Dak. Because talent wise I don’t see this big discrepancy. Cowboys better be careful.

And we were less than a TD from losing to the Giants.

What's potentially special about them is the young man at QB......he didn't get the memo that he's supposed to lose to us twice a year

Let's revisit this after that game
