The problem is, there's very little choice either way.

Never has the QB position in the NFL this been this awful. There's none to draft; there's none available in free agency. They all absolutely suck.

Tom Brady described it perfectly.
We got Lance.

Kid has an arm.

Look at the teams of QBs that get monster contracts and see how they do. A guy like Mahomes, for all his greatness is impressively, yet barely, keeping his team above water with a wasteland of cast-off WRs and a long in the tooth TE.

That's our future if Dak gets a mega deal. Except the Chiefs have Mahomes and we will have Dak.
lol good one ! but now jerry is think of how how he can shuffle those peas, and make everyone think that he got mahomes or almost as good.
like same price shorter term.etc

Sign Dak to at least a 5+ year extension.

Truly wish Dak would give the team a discount. Take only $40 - $42 million/year. Dak would still make lots of money, plus help the team keep its other key players with no problem of keeping this playoffs ready team intact.

already on the hook for 160.

So pay him another 200?

Thats 360 mill in cap space for a QB who can't go to Pro Bowls or win in the playoffs?

Pass.

This is why we have Lance.

Dak is currently the best performing QB in the whole NFL. He is #1 in line to win NFL MVP!

Yet, you prefer a way overrated BUST who already has proven to be no better than a 3rd string QB? Your hatred knows no limits. It is blinding you.

If we play the Panthers and Giants every week, he'd be MVP.

Everyone knows Purdy is going to be MVP.

Go back and watch the Niners game. Does Dak look like MVP material?

No way Jerry drops another 200 mill on Dak.

So your idea is to go from the guy who has the 2nd best odds to win MVP right now to a guy who lost his backup job to Sam Darnold? That is a bold move.

You have the Niners game to take away from Dak and the people taking away from Purdy have: Browns, Bengals, and Vikings (3 is slightly more than 1). Purdy and Dak have near identical numbers but Purdy has the better players around him and the moment he didnt he looked outclassed.

im glad the Niners traded Lance to Dallas.

It's an amaziing trade.

How lucky can our team be?

Do you really want Jerry to drop another big $$$ check on Dak?

I mean when the alternative is a QB who will have had 1 year of starting experience since High School and not have played more than 2 full games in 5 years then yes. Again remember that Trey Lance lost out a backup job to Sam Darnold. Darnold is not one of the 30 best QBs in football. There is no one right now arguing Dak is not top 10 (many would say top 5 considering MVP race). That is a massive dropoff that makes the team go from contender to borderline playoff team.

He's a phenom.

Just be glad we got him.

When he replaces Dak, its gonna be rough for some of us.

But our favorite players get replaced all the time.

Romo, Dez, Aikman, Emmitt, Zeke...

All of them were replaced.

He is a nothing. You are what you have been and he has been nothing. Actually that is not fair. Right now what he is, is one of the largest draft busts of all time. Now maybe he can develop from where he was at the start of this year, someone who was at best not a top 35 QB, and considering he could not beat out Rush not a top 50 QB, into a top 32 QB, but it would be rather unprecedented for him to reach Dak's level of being that bad an reaching the top 10. That is the truth of what he is.

Everyone in that building realizes it. When Dak gets extended again it might sting for you to realize that the Trey Lance trade was just them throwing away a 4th round pick but that is what it is.

At present, Trey is a great arm w/ no game. Small school project. Toolsy, but so far has not been an NFL player.
