No i'm done with McCarthy and his dink dunk Tex Coast offense, ..his offense is a misfit and mis-scheme for too many of of our key personnel players.

- Like Kellen, he can go thru a period where he abandons the run,..and he doesn't know when/who to run the ball with

- he ignored speedster WR Brandin Cooks in 1st half of 23,..only involved him once media pushed him.
and Cooks has been primarily a possession WR here, ..not schemed for splash plays under McCarthy

- not until this year, did we used RBs in pass game. and i'm talking isolation and flair/swing passes,.. not dump off safety valve passes.
Started off strong with RBs in pass game, then seem to skimper off fade as season went along.

- TE Ferguson really seem to fall off this in 2024, ..we never use/scheme on deep middle, and isolation plays, - very sad and puzzzling that Fergy had
ZERO TDs and never used in the red zone .

-Speaking of Red Zone,.. McCarthy is below average at it, imo Even Moore was more efficient at it than McCarthy.

- Even with Dak starting, we were one of the worst scoring offenses in the NFL ..this doesn't change until there is a significant change as play caller, imo.

Not really. Jimmy ran the show. Jerry got jealous of Jimmy because it was Jimmy making the hershel trade, Jimmy drafting players, Jimmy instilling discipline in plyers, jimmy cutting guys who couldn't help them win. Jerry was just the owner and couldn't handle. The proof is 27+ years since Jimmy has left with nothing to show for it.

Ironically it was reported that the Cowboys wanted to hire Norv Turner as new HC, but he insisted on bringing dreaded DC Ted Cottrell here as his DC in Dallas,.. and management said " No "
That was the end of HC negotiations, and the Jerry surprisingly turned to Wade Phillips as new HC, ..after Jerry hired on Jason Garrett as new OC.

Another irony, is that Ted Cottrell ended up being a horrible DC with San Diego Chargers with Norv serving as HC.

We'd better be careful about bringing up Norv Turner

Over the alternative of Zimmer or Kellen…..yes, I am fine with Mike. Johnson, Vrabel, etc will never be considered by Jerry. It’s not like there will be a new QB coming in to start over with.

Jacksonville and New Orleans have requested to interview Moore. Both have long lists of candidates. So there’s some interest in Kellen. After deciding not to keep him I doubt Jerry turns around and wants him to be the Cowboys’ head coach.
