The "I told you so" game that rules this board will continue on Tony as it does on every other player. This place reads like a monument to low self-esteem and the need to prop oneself up over trivia.
There were plenty of folks who didn't want TR as much as we wanted to see DB benched..even after this past preseason when he impressed everyone, I felt Romo was still too much of an 'unknown quantity' to understand his skill level. That he is displaying good vision and sound decision making is a thrill.
But there are only two folks who imo merit a Romo Backer mention - the first is Nors who insisted for three years that Parcells was a staunch Romo supporter. Of course, Bill has to be behind you or you're not here at all, but Nors correctly saw that Bill was developing TR to be a starter, and that he wasn't an also-ran 'pet project' of Sean Payton alone.
The other poster is Roshi, who was the only other person who consistently supported Romo.
The rest of the braggers are themselves late-comers. Of course, feel free to prove me wrong.
Well maybe you shouldn't make baseless comments in the first place.cowboys19;1134875 said:No its more of a why waste my time with you?

Romo Thought/Prediction
I posted this in another thread and thought it deserved it's own:
I think people are making to much of the fact that Romo hasn't thrown a regular season pass. I don't see this as a legit reason he can't take over.
He's been learning, watching and performing (all be it in a controlled environment) for four years.
I can assure you we will see very quickly what he's made of. What I mean is that he will be very close to what he'll be long term almost immediately. Look at some other examples of successful guys who kind of came out of nowhere
Warner spent a few years in arena and NFL Europe and I believe one full year on St Louis' bench. He was a seasoned guy who knew the system. He wasn't a rookie. He was exceptional from the first drive. He was no better in week 4 week 8 or week 16. He had "it".
Delhome spent three years with very little to no actual playing experience. He was as good in his first start for Carolina as he is today. Good comparable to Romo. He has "it"
Brady took over for Bledsoe in week 3 or 4 in his second year. He did get better over his first season. There was upward curve for him, but he was only a second year player and still very good from day one. Obviously he has "IT" sqaured.
I think Romo the next guy. He's not a rookie! Including him in this group is not going to sound so silly fairly soon. I believe he has "it". I love the way the ball comes off his hand. He's smooth, accurate, calm, confident. To me he seemed to make alot of quick and good reads, pre-snap and post-snap. Just seemed like he knew where he wanted to throw it quickly and always seemed to be right. Even though he seemed to be so technically precise, he wasn't mechanical he showed the ability to improvise.
I felt like I was watching something special. I see some Montana in his game.
Let me just say this. I was a Henson guy. Believed in him, wanted him to do well. I'm talking to a freind in the third quarter of our second preseaon game. You guys should remember this game, we all wanted Bledsoe to do well to kill any QB debate. Bledsoe was exceptional that first half. Romo comes in the 3rd Quarter and still upstages him! This friend is complaining because Henson wasn't getting in. Coming into that game I wanted to see Henson, but by that time I didn't want Romo to come out! I was converted and not the least bit dissapointed when they cut Henson two days latter.
I like Bledsoe, nice guy had some real nice moments for us last year. I've defended him and still see a lot of positives in his game. But I think Romo is an upgrade, it's his time.

Well, I just read it now in a whole new thread "patting myself on the back"..so that's two headaches in the same day.
Sonny, you're a johnny-come-lately. Two weeks ago most everybody not fatally mesmerized by Bledsoe's strong arm or smitten by him back in 1996 was calling for Romo.
Go look up that article where Parcells tells new coach Charlie Weis "you've only been a coach for five minutes, so just sit down and shut the F up".
