Arizona OL Will Hernandez a free agent this offseason about Klayton Adams

It's not him........I think he has left town. He was MM's guy..........
I'm not sure he was McCarthy's guy. When No-Schott was brought in as offensive coordinator, Solari followed him from Seattle, where No-Schott had been the offensive coordinator. So it seems like we brought in No-Schott essentially to coordinate the running game and Solari to implement the line scheme for the running game. Maybe Solari wasn't No-Schott's guy, but it certainly seems like it. Solari also had ties to McCarthy, but not as recent (2015 assistant OL coach with Packers; OL coach for the Chiefs in the late 1990s while McCarthy was QB coach for two years).

He's cleaned up his game a lot, but he was trash out of college and tried to compensate with a lot of dirty play.
He was a high 2nd round draft pick.No where near a trash player. He was not a dirty player either.

I thought Adams was strictly OC . I never saw a release stating he was OL coach . And WR coach never announced either .
I think that Adams and Lunda Wells will be splitting the offensive line. Wells was TE coach but I think he now takes on more responsibility and learns from Adams

Will Hernandez was very highly rated by some before he was drafted. But it seems like he never reached the level of play some claimed he would. I am not sure he is much better than Brock Hoffman at this point, but my guess is he will cost a lot more.

Just looked. It appears he's still on staff. Not seen anything different yet.
He's not under contract how can he still be on the staff I mean last I checked every single assistant became free agents even before Mike McCarthy decision to move on and parted ways he's the only one that had the extension period the non tampering. The rest of them were all done after the season and then after he was let go, I remember him saying that all the assistants were free to go and not one of them were still under contract...

So, if he's not under contract, he's not on the staff, he may be still available and maybe he's still vying for the position. you know hanging around like Jason Garrett did and hoping Jerry would change his mind long past his contract running out but everyone keeps saying this and last I checked every single assistance contract ran out last year they were all free to go wherever they wanted therefore he is not on the staff officially it's not official unless it's official it can't be said he's on the staff....

But here's a crazy thing, maybe we got to wait and see till they make it official but, in the meantime,

if he ends up back here, trust me he doesn't get the run the offensive line the way he wants, this is the whole point of changing out your head coach and your offensive coordinator; because they're going to tell the tight end coach, the running back coach, the wide receiver coach ,and yes the offensive line coach what they want and how they need to run it...

If they can't get it done, they need to move on, this is not any different than having a defensive coach realize his normal schemes don't work and they have to run something different run a hybrid run something new so just because Solari comes back, doesn't mean it's going to be business as usual.

Yeah there's no way I'm picking this guy up I mean if you're gonna do that you might as well keep Martin I don't think he's better than Martin if Martin still wants to play and if Martin's healthy I think they need to make Martin the swing guard you know that way he doesn't have to play as much you pay him like a backup he can finish his career here and who knows if there's injuries he could end up starting again but at least you give him time to heal and be more fresh when needed but we don't need another project here you're right we have the bodies on this team that we don't need to get a free agent especially at guard if you're gonna go get somebody it needs to be a left tackle better than edoga...

That would be the big question marks right now on the offensive line is who's gonna play tackle we have Richards .guyton .and steele and are we moving on from steel and how are we gonna handle depth there I know there's a couple other names on our team but that would be the position you need to shore up I think we have plenty of the middle of our line guards centers backup guards backup centers I think we're set in the middle of my opinion...

I think it's still solari until they say different
I do not think they have one yet.
Solari is not under contract, according to the team website as of yesterday.

Did I miss something, or is it just fan rumor?

This makes sense. All the reporting after the season was that no coaches were under contract except Big Mike until January 14th.

I’m glad to hear Adams is strictly OC and they are looking for an OL coach . I would expect Eberflus and Adams to sit upstairs to communicate with HC game day .

Trust me, Hoffman will be cheap. He is a replacement level player.

He’s a much better depth piece on a good offensive line rather than a starter.
Trust me no that's not what most teams would see him as they don't have pro bowlers at every position, they don't have all pros at every position he's a starter on many teams,

I realize why you would call him a replacement level player, and he may not be expensive, but he will cost enough to consider him to be a starter...

now if you run across one better in the future that's great but he's a good bridge guy he's actually a very good player as well as bass you thinking this guy is just a backup and we still need a starter you're like severely lacking in the perspective of the whole entire league and looking at all their offensive lines and they are not all five being top starters.. You need players like this that don't break the bank you have high level players making a lot of money like Martin and before that tyron Smith and you have steele, but you need guys like this on your team that yes, our starters making less money but doing a very good job..

This line was better with him than it was with Martin and when these guys were filling in together they played really well you have a lot of options to play around with the bodies we have on this team to find the best 5 without having to have another high draft pick or spend money in free agency if you're going to do that you need to do that the tackles I think we're set at guard/Center for a little while..

I hear you. I don’t disagree.

But Hernandez knows Adams system and is the perfect Jerry signing. Cheap and coming off injury
He can help with teaching/transitioning those guys to understand how Adams operates

Plus, in this league, depth is a luxury. There's a chance Bass and/or Hoffman could be starters in 2025, so depth will be needed

Hoffman is so overrated by Cowboys fans. He's a great guy and decent depth who can play a game or 2 at OG or C when needed, but he is not even an average starting OL.
Yeah Hoffman was way more up and down than people realize. He has some very solid performances, but also got taken to school a few games this year as well. I look at him as a high end backup/low end starter right now. If they do look at a FA G or draft one I think it becomes a very serious conversation of do you trade Hoffman? Hes shown he can play in this league to some extent and will be extremely cheap this year. He might net you a mid to early 4th? Is that worth giving up depth on the interior and just rolling with Bass?

Hoffman is not an NFL starter on a good or great line.

He just doesn’t have the athleticism.

Again, the guy is a fine player, but he’s not a player you should not be looking to upgrade over.

I thought highly of will Hernandez as well but was glad we didn't draft him. He's been awful until he went to zona where Adams was able to get the most out of him. Hoff and Hernandez are about the same but since Hoff has versatility, I must go with him. I think his success will depend on who our next OL coach is and can they work well with Adams.
