What NFL teams want and dont want means little. Many of the players they wanted played horrible, see (Hutch in Chicago, Mike McMahon with the Eagles, Carter could have made any of those teams much much better)

Unlike other players who are objects of even bigger distain, this player actually did tangibly hurt the franchise. That is worthy of rancor moreso than any other player.



So because he tried hard that excuses his ditching of the team because he wanted to smoke more? Interesting logic you have there.

How the hell did he hurt the team in your "logical" opinion? Remember, you feel he was a scrub and shouldn't have even been the QB, now you are saying he hurt the team by his personal issues?

So I assume you are/were not a michael Irvin, Leon Lett, Tuinei, Nate, Henderson, etc etc etc fan as they were all known to party a bit.

Chances are with those QB you could be right however losing a starting QB to an injury is one issue losing them for 4, 8 or a season due to drugs is a different set of problems and while talent no doubt means a lot dependablity means a lot as well because that QB does you no good if he is suspended.

So are you saying if a player such as Brady, Manning, Culpepper, Vick, McNabb, Ben R or someone of that caliber were to test positive for marijuana for a second time and actually get suspended for 4 games that the player in question would be released and not given a second chance immediately?

I would bet my last dollar that any of those QBs I just mentioned were to be released for a positive drug test that they would not be unemployed for a single day in the NFL.

Again, talent risk to reward ratio.

You should be embarrassed to voice that opinion. In 2004, when Carter played for the Jets, he had 98 qb rating and Penny had a 93. Combined, they had the highest qb rating in the NFL. Without Carter and Penny in 2005, the Jets were horrible. How could a Cowboy fan prefer to lose with Bledsoe,instead of win with Carter. Detroit signed Jeff Garcia instead of Carter and did nothing, Cleveland signed Trent Dilfer instead of Carter and did nothing and the Raiders signed Collins instead of Carter and did nothing. Dallas signed Bledsoe instead of going back to Carter and did nothing. How much does it take to sink in, the last two NFL teams that Carter had substantial playing for made the playoffs. That aint no accident.

That's all Im saying... we haven't been winning since Quincy Carter... and Quincy Carter got even better in that offseason he got cut before training camp.Quincy knew he was going to beat Vinny out in competition with his eyes close..

Your right he worked hard but his play was not that good to start with, no teams in the NFL are going after him not even as a 3rd string QB none. I was also not pissed when Puller got the ax or Hogeboom because they too were not that good to start with. Love and adoration? I hardly think that is an accurate description. Did QC kick your dog or steal your lunch money or something? Where else could blatant hatred towards someone you don't even know come from?

All I said was that he worked his *** off for us while he was here. If you want to debate that, bring a sack lunch as you will be in for a long day. There are/were several articles talking about QC spending even more time at the Ranch than BP. First one there, last one to leave. But hey, he had a lisp, let's trash the guy.

There is a simple reason why I don't like Carter. Even if you make an accurate and reasonable assessment about any of his weaknesses, his supporters come out in droves to try to bash you. People have said terrible things to me just for having an opinion on the guy.

The guy got more excuses than any player I have ever seen.

So what if he worked hard? He abused drugs. He let his team down. He was a terrible teammate. He treated people lousy. On top of that, he wasn't even a very good QB. Why should I think he is a good guy and wish him luck?

Carter was given every possible opportunity and the only person he has to blame is himself. This isn't a conspiracy. The only reason Quincy is a backup in the CFL is because of Quincy. If you could bet on QC ending up in the CFL, I'd be a much richer man today.

I think it's great Carter still has people rooting for him. I really do.

But the last thing he needs are supporters that simply make the same kind of insane and irrational excuses he does. I am sure he reads fan mail from people like that and continues to rationalize his behavior and dismiss the reality that it probably cost him a career in the NFL.

You miss the point. Many NFL players have done much worse than Q, yet are still in the league. Brian Griese's a drunk, Kerry Collins' is a drunk, Leonard Little is a drunk and a killer. Ricky Williams who failed numerous drug tests was allowed to come back and Randy Moss admits he smokes weed. Plus, Ray Lewis was on trial for murder and Michael Irvin did a whole lot worse with drugs than Q, yet he was allowed to play. There's a double standard with Carter than with other players, some of who are qb's. That's what galls his supporters. He acknowledges that he messed up, but he didn't mess up so bad as to justify being banned from the NFL. There's just no fairness in the way he's been treated, either by the NFL or some so-called Cowboy fans.

He hasn't been banned from the NFL. The only thing keeping him out of the league is his lack of talent and the fact that a team can't possibly count on him.
