It all depends on what the defense does in my opinion. It's probably unlikely that we'll have near-perfect health on offense again, at least in terms of avoiding a long term injury to a top-tier starter. While I think the running game will remain a definite strength it's also probably unlikely to expect talks of a 2,000 yard rusher on the team. Which means you aren't going to get away with the smoke-and-mirrors hiding of defensive weakness in 2015 that you could in 2014. However, you have two Pro Bowl caliber players in Hardy and Lee who you'd hope if healthy and productive would negate that issue. I still like the team to contend for a NFC Championship, but I don't think it's blasphemy after one playoff appearance in five years and two playoff wins in the Roma-era to assume playoffs automatically for the team either.

Good..I'm glad we are getting underrated going into the season from all of these supposed "Sports Gurus" again. I would hate to be overrated like the Eagles and Colts are right now.

Also, can't they keep their narrative consistent for once? All last year it was the Offensive line that was keeping Romo upright with "8 pockets" pockets and blowing holes large enough that "any running back" can skip through, to now we are losing our offensive potency just because Murray left. And according to them, a rookie RB can't come in and have immediate success? Yeah...thanks, handyman. <makes waving action>

My prediction is that only if we we pick up AP or Gurley (neither of which will probably happen), we will go into the season with the media underrating us to an 8-8/9-7 record, losing the division to the Eagles and missing out on the Wild Card game. Good...I want to see them eat crow again.

I honestly think the Giants will be better than the Eagles. Both behind the Cowboys though. Yes, we lost Murray but we still have the line that gave him all that running room to begin with. Adding what we did on Defense, I'm pretty stoked about this team. Let the media hype the Eagles again.

However I don't get the Chip Kelly's revamp Eagles team line....they might have improved their defense but they gutted their offense...I don't know if Revamped is the word I would use.

If by "revamped" he means committing nearly $60 million in contracts to his backfield (not including the QB position), have a QB made of glass lead his team for a FULL SEASON while throwing to a non-existant WR core...then yeah, I guess they're "revamped"!?! LMBO!!!

I have no issue with this writers opinion I don't agree with him but I will say Cowboys can't take it for granted. The Cowboys have been picked to go to a SB at the start of a season only to turn around and not even make the post season. Cowboys have the talent to make it they have to continue to show the will and determination to make it happen.
As Romo said himself there are no sure things entering a season

True but the Patriots hadn't won a championship in 10 years before they won back in February. We don't want to be 1 hit wonders like the Buccaneers (2002) and been trash ever since. I'd rather be like the Pats, even though it had been a decade since they won, at least they were always in the playoffs, in the hunt. I think that's a better formula than getting the championship 1 time, and falling back into irrelevance.

I actually don't disagree with either of you really.
I just don't know if you can have it both ways.
