Things are definitely stacking up well against the Colts.

The only way you're beating them is if you get 50 rushes, and control the ball for 50 minutes.

i just see manning having an absolute field day against our defense.

Well, I guess all isnt lost though, at least I have manning and wayne on my fantasy team

Come on man don't give up on your team, when I was in college I had to endure three years of Cowboy haters because they went 5-11 again and again but i stuck with them and slowly but surely things came around. Besides even in those bad years there were glimpses of satisfaction such the continued streak over washington or avenging the T.O debacle with a win against San Fran who was a playoff team (ironic now I realize). There were also excruciatingly embarassing moments such as the Houston opener. Regretably the Skins will bounce back, maybe even this year.

I meant this thread. But since I haven't seen anyone say the Skins were superbowl bound in this forum either, take it as you will.

Of course you did and I meant the entire forum. I said I have heard you skins fans say your suberbowl bound, and now your crying of injuries. Wow you made yourself look real stupid. Which isn't difficult to do since your a skins fan.

and the news just keeps getting better for us... according to the washington post, Carlos Rogers is out this weekend, and Cornelius Griffin and Joe Salavea are not likely to play this also. :(

im so glad that the good news just keeps pouring in

To Dallas' credit, if they were in the same situation they could move Aaron Glenn to starter and Jacques Reeves to the slot. Then plug in Ratliff and Kenyon Coleman.

Depth, it's not just an actor who starred in Pirates of the Carribean.

Yeah, Cowboys got the rookie blues in the Philly game with Watkins.

SOMEONE argued that it didn't matter that he was a rookie.....should we blame this on the rookie???? double standard!;)

if you only had a LITTLE depth.... keep throwing away those draft picks and you will NEVER have the quality depth you need!:lmao:

I doubt that those changes would still produce a good defense. It would vastly hurt you, just like any injury to a starter does

Honestly, we'd still be better than half the defenses in the league.

of course we were thinking superbowl, we have the talent, we were supposed to have the coaches. We went fairly deep into the playoffs the year before(at least won a game). Why wouldnt we be thinking high? Sometimes things come crashing down, and you can't explain it. Ill admit that I thought that we were going to make strong playoff run this year. But oh well, s**t happens. Who knows, maybe by the end of the year, this team will start to play like they should, and start winning some games( a la the vikings last year)

If you accept the premise that Washington outplayed their talent level last year, it all makes sense.

I see two talented players on offense and a few players Skins fans tend to overrate on defense, combined with absolutely no depth. To be perfectly honest with you, your team isn't all that talented. You can think I'm biased, but rest assured you are as well.

You know, during the Dave Campo years, I would rationalize the same thing. How come the Cowboys have so much talent, but aren't performing? Then I would blame Dave Campo. So, as soon as Parcells came in, and turned the team around in one year, I figured it must have been coaching. But, four years later, we have only four (?) members of our football team from the Campo years, look like we have talent, and seem to be on the rise from a winning perspective as well as an organizational perspective. And almost all of the players drafted during the JJ and Campo years (except for four) are sitting at home. Now, I realize that it was just both - lack of talent and lack of coaching.

Well, maybe it's time for you to realize its just quite possible that it could be the same thing for the 'Skins.

Fortunately for the Skins, when Gibbs is fired/retires they will be able to rebuild through the draft.

they didn't have the talent on defense last year to do what they did.
They had some great coaching, scheming, and synergy last year.
This year, I'm not sure what it is. They aren't very talented IMO. They have Springs, who has been out, Taylor, Arch (who is pretty overrated), Salvea (who was outstanding last year but quiet this year), Rogers (who has been disappointing) and who...? The DE's aren't very good, the LBs are pretty average, and the secondary could be pretty good but has a few injuries and one or two weak links.
I think to say the Skins are talented has to be relative to the bottom-feeder teams. They aren't that talented compared to the upper-level teams mainly because people (media and Snyder/Gibbs) overrates a lot of the guys they have picked up the last few offseasons.

Why? Why does St. Gibbs have to retire before they can start doing that?

They have been throwing away draft picks WAY before he came along...

Don't you think it's a bit early to be throwing in the towell? There's a long season ahead and you can expect many peaks & valleys. The team that's hot this week can be as cold as an iceberg in two weeks.

Just look at the skins start last year and the way they finished. That in itself should make you think twice before kissing the season goodby.

Too many games to be played and you can expect the unexpected.

I must be mellowing in my old age....giving advice to a dadgum skins fan.:

offense, im guessing the two players that you are talking about are portis and moss right?

besides that, our o-line is pretty good(even though they have somewhat underperformed in some games this year)
- Chris cooley is a good H-back/TE
-Sellars is a beast back there. 280 pounds, great run blocker.

Defense is a little different.

Marcus Washington is by far the best player on defense. He is very good
Lemar Marshall usually plays very solid in the middle.
Griffin plays very, anchors that defensive line
Taylor, love him or hate him, he is a good safety.
Springs is a good corner. We really need him healthy.

I mean, you can say whatever you want being a cowboys fan, but there are some players that you just cant overlook. The fact is we are a talented team, and we can win games, we showed that last year, now we just have to translate that and show it this year. Something that has been very elussive to us
