If he were doing his best to win he would have fired himself and hired another 2 o3 GMs or so by now. And he could apply himself full time to the job and do all the unfun things GMs have to do.Jerry isn't doing his best to win. You've got to be kidding if you think he is.
Now doing his best to make himself comfortable, relevant, and rich? Sure. But not to win.
One thing that has amused me is this thinking the Cowboys would have been any better under another GM, when we don't know who he would have hired and what he would have been empowered to do. What if he'd hired Larry Lacewell, the #1 voice in his ear for so long?
One problem we have is those 3 SB's so close together. If they'd spaced those out every 6 or 7 years, I think fans wouldn't be so enamored with 23 years. I mean we had 6 seasons between the first 2 and seemed OK with that. If we'd won one every 6 years since 92, we'd have 98 and 2004 and only have to read "we haven't been relevant in 14 years!!!!!!"
