As of right now in the NFL is Tony Romo a Top Five qb?

RainMan;3085894 said:
I think this is a fair list, although I'd drop Rodgers considerably. He's not even above .500 yet as a starter in this league, is he?

I don't think he is. But his stats are fantastic. The Packers score the seventh most points in the NFL, and Rodgers doesn't turn the ball over. He can't play defense and special teams too.

Based on who I would want to be my QB today. This is the list.

Pct Yds Avg TD Int Rate
Drew Brees 68.4 2,559 8.8 19 9 104.6
Peyton Manning 69.7 2,872 8 20 7 104.2
Brett Favre 68.1 2,269 8 17 3 107.5
Tom Brady 66.2 2,739 7.8 19 6 100.6

Ben Roethlisr 67.9 2,469 8.2 14 8 97.1
Philip Rivers 62.2 2,476 8.3 16 6 97.9
Joe Flacco 65.3 2,199 7.3 12 7 90.7
Aaron Rodgers 63.9 2,444 8.3 17 5 101.8
Eli Manning 60 2,070 7.5 15 8 89.5

Carson Palmer 61.4 2,010 6.9 14 7 88.1
Matt Schaub 67.5 2,653 8.1 17 9 98.1
Kurt Warner 66.9 2,515 7.1 18 11 91.5
Tony Romo 60.4 2,466 8.1 14 6 93.5
Donovan McNabb 60.1 1,685 7.7 12 4 95.1
Matt Ryan 59.7 2,008 6.7 14 12 78.8

Uh, wow.
You think Flacco is better than Romo? Schaub? Palmer? Warner?

Why is it that Romo gets trashed for never winning anything, yet it's totally fine that Palmer has had MORE time and done less? Schaub has never won anything or even made the playoffs, yet he's better than Romo? On what basis?

Romo is having a better season than Palmer and has the last few years. What on earth makes him better than Romo? I'd love to know.

Nope. Not even top 10.

You have a lot of nerve telling other people they've failed.

Really? Must be nice for Rodgers, because it seems that according to the Romo haters, Romo plays defense and special teams and sometimes WR.

Well he does or did hold for extra points. Low blow I know, but it's Dallas week.:)

Nope. Not even top 10.

You'll have to forgive us if we don't exactly take a Skins fans word for it when it comes to Romo. The fact that you have Palmer, Manning, and Warner on there over Romo tells me all I need to know.

Now with that said since the question was top 5 right now the answer is no. He's not top 5 right now, IMO.

I'd have Manning, Brady, Brees, Favre, and Rivers as my top 5. Romo would come in there somewhere between 6-10 for me and that is just fine by me.

terrifNick21;3085728 said:
Why? He's won 2 Super Bowls.

I believe the question was right now, at this point in the season, not what they've done over their career. If we're taking the whole sum of their career into count then someone better be making a serious case for Kurt Warner. 3 Superbowl appearances, a Superbowl title, and loads of yards and TDs. But, again, that wasn't the question.

terrifNick21;3085794 said:
Yes, he is.

Oh, ok. And we're just suppose to believe it because you said it? Sorry but, no.

JBond;3085799 said:
You know you are going to be crucified for this.

I do not agree with your list. Romo should be between 4 and 7 in my opinion. Not the very best in the league but good enough to win the big one if everything else is in place.

I have him at 6-10 right now so I'm pretty much with you there. I think, right now, that 4-5 would be too high.

BIGDen;3085958 said:
If Romo could only be as good as Eli and BradyQuinn....

Oh that's right, he's just a "more mobile Bulger" without TO. That comment and the Quinn delusions really give your QB opinions boatloads of credibility.

You mean he had credibility when it came to QBs to begin with? I didn't realise he ever had any to lose.

Doomsday101;3085988 said:
So the fact Drew Brees has also thrown more picks and has more fumbles than Romo are no big deal? Heck Romo throws a pick and the board goes nuts

Brees is still a big part of his team being undefeated and I think people will overlook mistakes like that in cases like that.

Doomsday101;3086003 said:
Keep your fingers crossed after all the important thing is being right. :lmao2:

For him, and a few others, that is sadly the case. Of course he'll claim otherwise while neatly showing that being right is still very important to him.

Gemini Dolly;3086005 said:
Do you want to be right?

yes he does. He's made that perfectly clear.

Doomsday101;3086010 said:
And people wounder why others question them being fans? :laugh2: Post like this is the reason why. It appears Tony Romo failure is what is important to McCordsville that way his own prediction is right even if it comes at the expense of the team.

Nah not at all dawg! He'll be representing the team and hoping they win. But of course he's right so they won't cause Tony will blow it thus proving he's right. Didn't you know that?

Typical, same old, song and dance. He wants the team to win but they're going to lose cause of one player. Afterall football isn't a team sport anymore. I guess some people didn't get that memo.

Doomsday101;3086120 said:
That really depends on the team as much as it does Tony. Does not change the fact that the post comes off as being more concerned with being right then the team doing good. I really don't get you, you slobber over Quinn yet rake Romo over the coals.

It's stupidity at its finest. He's another poster who doesn't believe it's a team game, when he's talking about Romo, but boy will he be quick to point out to you that Quinn sucking it up has nothing to do with Quinn and everything to do with his team.

See how that works? It's a team sport when it's convient for the argument but only when it's convient for the argument being in his (and to be fair a few other posters as well) favor.

I know it is not all Quinn fault I like giving you the business because you act as if it is all Romo fault while drooling over Quinn. Expectation for Quinn are high he was a 1st rd pick then again where a guy gets picked or not does not matter how he plays is what does.

Tony just has to prove it.. bottom line. I think he has better tools than some guys that I just can't place him ahead of.

Manning Brady Breese should be your 1,2,3 in some order

I have Romo ahead of guys like Palmer, McNabb, and Rodgers..

it's a hard sell to place him ahead of Ben, Warner and Rivers.. they've been money when it counted most too often.

Agree...Manning, Brady, Brees, Rothlisberger, Favre for me. Then Romo is in the next five somewhere with McNabb & some others.

Just my opinion:

1. Brady
2. Manning
3. Ben
4. Brees
5. Rivers
6. Warner
7. Favre
8. Eli
9. McNabb
10. Palmer
11. Romo

Sure you don't want Campbell on there?

Peyton, Brady, Brees, Rivers, then up for debate.

I think you have to add Big Ben to that -- he's won 2 SBs and is having a great year this year...

He and the team need playoff success to gain respect. I sure think he has the physical tools but not as sure about his decision making.
