I don't think Jerry is that egotistical.

He's admitted some wrong in the past. I seriously don't think he will go with Garrett if there is a shred of doubt.......which there should be.

Oh, if you look up "egotistical" in the dictionary, you might just find Jerry's photo.

And isn't there going to be a shred of doubt about virtually anyone who is likely to be hired? Outside of Belichick and maybe a few others (who I can't think of at the moment), just about anybody would evoke at least a shred of doubt.

sure you will. but he won't be as alone as jones bashers would have you believe in this little "selling" point.

If Jerry fires Wade and names Garrett as HC when the offense is struggling like this, what the hell is Jerry going to say at the presser to justify making Garrett the HC???

This is the 3rd year of Garrett's offense and we look worse than ever. Our QB has not thrown a TD pass since the openner, our WRs look lost as hell and have to be lined up before every freaking snap, and we fail to use players to the best of their ability (see Witten blocking with the game on the line and Bennett watching from the sideline).

So what is Jerry going to say in the presser to convince Cowboy Nation that Garrett is the right man for the job, especially considering a large number of fans want him hung outside the stadium right now???

If JG wants to be HC then Jerry should fire wade now and tell JG to take the team to the playoffs or you're out of a job at the end of the year....and then go get a name head coach. If he takes us to the playoffs and wins a game I'd be more enthusiastic about him as permanent HC. Just my opinion.

I'd honestly be surprised if we lost to the Chiefs. This is another one of those games we're supposed to win, that we do win. It's only the games we HAVE to win against good teams, that are the problem.

My bet is we come in Sunday and dominate both sides of the ball. All the while, looking exactly the way we all think the team 'should' look. And diluted we will go into the bye week. And with Wade and Jason sadly still with us.

Only a person emotionally impaired at the moment thinks we don't win this game hands down. It's an easy team, we're supposed to win it, and we will.

There is one reason why I dont think Garrett will be the next head coach if things keep going they have been. Money, the only thing Jerry cares about more then winning.

Jerry has a stadium to fill, how on earth is he going to convince people to fill the place up if he promotes a guy who appears to be in over his head as an offensive coordinator? I cant imagine too many people would be overly excited by a hire like that.

Guys like Shanahan, Holmgren and Gruden would allow Jerry to generate a buzz and make it easy for Jerry to suck us in to the hype.

Jerry isn't going to fire Wade mid season. He's also probably not going to renew his contract which is up at the end of this year. Garrett is the next Head Coach here.

I think the only way Jerry fires Wade during the season is if we tank and IF Jerry fully intends on giving JG the job for at least a three year contract. If Jerry really believes in Garrett that much Wade might go if things go from bad to worse.

That's probably right but here's a plausible alternative: the sooner Jerry fires Wade, the longer Red's trial as HC is this season. If Jerry were to fire Wade after a KC loss, Jerry would have a full 11 games to evaluate Red. If he flops, you start over in the offseason.

Me neither.

I want a young guy who can relate to these players.

I don't want someone who want them to be friends with him.

I want a boss.

Straight and to the point. I like it.

When are people going to realize it's the players more than coaches in Dallas. Blame the players first. Now I am not defending the staff, but this group failed for the BP and they deserve the finger pointing.

I still think we lose sunday and I dont think wade goes anywhere.

And I used to like the idea of garrett taking over, but as the losses mount up I have to imagine he is losing his players also.

maybe at the end of the day the problem here is we have two Head coaches and two styles being used by two coaches with no clear cut head guy.

and that brings us around to the biggest problem here, the guy hiring the coaches.

Quite possibly the most intuitive thing you have ever said. The thing is, I think Wade is more helpful to this team than Red Head.

Another Jones led mess. Doubtful they lose to KC, but it wouldn't be shocking to me. They're not a confident team right now. I'm on the side of letting the fat man and red stay even if they do lose tomorrow. Just don't see the point of bringing in someone else with a whole different system after 5 games. I guess the only exception would be if JJ was in love with someone like Cowher and he felt he had to move on him before lil' napoleon in DC could get him. Who knows? Sad watching it all unfold like 90% of us said it would after the loss to the Giants in the playoff game a couple years ago. A slow, painful, predictable meltdown.........and next year we can start over again. Great.

I doubt it happens, especially since the defense just had 2 good weeks of play back to back (12 ppg allowed, 6 sacks, 3 turnovers). I guess that would make Garrett the interim coach. The only sense that would make is if you wanted to get a glimpse of Garrett's coaching ability before making him the HC in 2010. But, it hasn't been in Jerry's nature to fire coaches in the middle of the season, something the media doesn't get. He didn't fire Chan Gailey mid-season and didn't fire Campo mid-season, a guy that went 5-11 for three straight years in a row.

Oh wait, Mosely is reporting this...so we know it ain't happening now.

This is where we'll see what Romo has for leadership skills.

all the players have backed romo, which leads me to believe this season if the bottom falls out, that the players will just tune out the coaches, together.

I am not so sure that hasnt happened yet, like it did last year it seemed.

Yeah, could definitely be.

I think we'll see a little of what this team is made of tomorrow. If they win, maybe they can get healthy during the bye week and beat Atlanta & Seattle at home, that gets us to 5-2 going to Philly.

They just need some good stuff to happen on both sides of the ball, but especially with Romo.

Garrett is as bid a name as Jerry will go. Really I have no problem with Garrett being the HC, as long as he is only the HC and not a coordinator. He needs to hire an offensive coordinator and QB coach to work closely with Romo, and most importantly to call the plays and game plan.

The arrangement we have now, with no HC and two coordinators running the show is not working and will never work.

I think you could make a legit argument that this same arrangement resulted in a team winning the super bowl last yr.
