In late 2012, Dak Prescott likely wasn't thinking about an NFL future. He was just a Dallas Cowboys fan with some angst and a Twitter account.
Who knew that on Dec. 30, 2012, he wasn't just ripping Tony Romo on Twitter, he was ripping future Cowboys teammate Tony Romo? The Cowboys picked Prescott late in the fourth round on Saturday, presumably to possibly be Romo's successor someday.
It's really not that big of a deal. Prescott was 19 years old and at that point had 29 career college passes. There's no way he could have known that day, as Romo threw three interceptions in a Week 17 game at Washington with a playoff spot on the line, that he'd work with Romo someday.

So you're saying letting him vent on Twitter about it was a good idea?
I don't think what he said years ago is going to affect anything, I just think any platform that allows you to put your knee-jerk reactions out there for everyone to see is not good for those who put their knee-jerk reactions out there for everyone to see. Once you put a careless statement out there, you can't take it back.
Story.. Story.. Wow. Do I really have to break it down that far. Ok. I will.
New young draft pick is drafted by the team that houses a superstar that he denigrated via social media because said draft pick is a young millenial that doesn't know any better.
Said millenial is immediately faced with damage control after the social media faux pas is uncovered by the snake-like media.
The superstar and the young draft pick have a laugh and quickly move on.
Hope this helps...
Yeah, I said a lot worse. Romo choked massively in that game and sunk our whole team.I will never forget that meltdown.
Taking up? The hell does that even mean?
Personally. I hope this is still his attitude. I don't want them to be all buddy-buddy. I want Prescott to push Romo and if necessary to beat him out for the job.

How many of us fans did this not just about Romo, but about many players...hate on them, then love them....love them then hate on them....
It is a frustration thing. Can like the player, but a few dumb things, you criticize....plays. Ok, then wins an important game, and he's a hall of famer....
I do agree that kids are really careless with social media. I don't look at this as a typical athlete putting his foot in his mouth though. I see a 19 year old Dallas Cowboys fan who was watching the same game we were and venting in the same way. Honestly I think Romo will give him a hard time and have a laugh. This is a non story.
No doubt. But if he had vented to his family or even called a friend to vent instead of putting his feelings out there for anyone to see, no one could be making it a story. I don't think Romo is going to care one way or the other.
I consider it similar to Greg Hardy and his tweets last year. I didn't see most of what he said as being a story, but they were made a story because he put them out there for everyone to see, allowing some to take offense. I'm sure Garrett's scoldings had less to do with what he said in the tweets than the fact that he brought negative attention to himself and the team.

Woot. Someone who seems to have knowledge of the game.
WELCOME DAK!
I already like you.
