Back From Dallas...

I've been to cowboy games in several stadiums other than Texas Stadium, and there is no comparison. I was there at Fed Ex when THam went wild, and our fans were absolutely wild, much louder than any I've seen at Texas Stadium. The Cowboys crowd in San Diego was loud, and we have a better home field advantage in Arizona than we do in Dallas.

I went to the Commanders game at TS last year, and the crowd was pretty loud. I am looking forward to Nov.18th for the Commander game. I am going with some pretty rowdy friends, so it is guaranteed to be loud for that game.

if not for the dallas cowboys shops in the mall i would never know the cowboys played in the same city i was in.....most of the real die hard fans are from the east coast.....

I'm from Texas, and I've watched every Cowboy game over the last fifteen years. Through every single bitter shellacking at the hands of the Eagles during the Campo regime, I watched the game until the very last second ticked off the play clock.

Don't judge my fandom.

if i was from texas i would definately be embarased, you have the best team in any sport and you have store owners selling other teams paraphanalia....

Have you been anywhere else in the United States? I've lived in Missouri and Texas, and I've visited the Southwest and Northeast extensively. Virtually every sports store sells the paraphernalia of other teams.

one thing guys when we have the ball it's kind of a good thing to be quiet and when we are on defense then it's time to make noise....

i can't count how many times i saw lineman and players on the sideline trying to quiet the crowd when we were on offense.....unbeleivable.....

Actually, John Madden has stated that the Texas Stadium crowd is one of the most intelligent in football. They're raucous when the opponent team is on offense, and silent when they're on defense.

I'll take Madden's opinion over yours.

For the love of ?! What we need is to convict some philadelphia fans to become cowboys fans!!! When you have a jail inside the stadium .... that's love man!!! We need some of that. Our football team may kick the eagles butts, but their fans would kick ours!!! When we get excited enough to throw a few snowballs..... uh maybe spitwads then we will have homefield advantage. I think the new stadium needs beer sells in it, or something, and I don't even drink!!!! lol

I'm from the East Coast and am a rabid Cowboy fan starting back in Staubach's day. I've only visited Dallas a few times when my brother was stationed there & never got the opportunity to see the Cowboys in person. However, when the new stadium is completed I might just get my butt in gear and spend some vacation money on a trip to watch them play & I'll do it thru some travel agency connected to the Cowboys so I can enjoy any perks which might be thrown in.

I think it's all relative. Crown Royal went and said that he thought the crowd noise was decent. I thought it was pretty good, too as far as how it came thru the TV and I didn't even have the surround sound on.

I was at the Pats' game also, and it was very loud when the Pats were on offense. Last year I went to see the Colts game, and the place was jumping (just as Jason Witten asked this year's crowd to be loud like last season's Colts game). Fans must have some type of common sense and realize that making noise when the 'Boys have the ball is a hindrance to the offense.

like madden is real inteligent ....senile old fart....

i spoke to a couple players before and after the game...when they tell me the crowd as no idea how to root ....(offense loud -defense quiet)
thats should tell you everything

all i know is i witnessed it and was very unimpressed. hopefully when we move to arlington this will all get better....

Those player comments are pretty dead-on for the most part. I guess it depends where you sit in the stadium as well. I was in 136 and it was loud (when we were on offense too). I still dont understand why people yell when we're on offense, but I guess that's what 20 coronas will do to you. What makes you think the new stadium will make things better? If anything it will be worse. Unless Jerry pumps in crowd noise through the speakers, you'll see people knitting sweaters and talking on their cell phones when we're on defense.

Texas Stadium is a concrete block. It is not conducive to noise. In fact in many cases concrete is used for soundproofing. I'm hoping Jerry took the time in designing the new Texas Stadium with crowd noise in mind.

If the Cowboys allowed more fans to buy tickets rather than corporate sponsors, it probably wouldn't be as bad, but as I said before. The makeup of the stadium itself is not conducive to noise.

bahahahahaha :lmao:

so true.....well they say the dynamics and structure of the new stadium will give us some advantage with noise...we need it....

i was sitting 4 rows away from the cowboys sideline on the 50 yard line and it was not loud at all.....i go every year to see the boys play the crappy giants...now thats a crowd...even carolina crowd is loud....usually for us although.....

To be honest, it's easy to cheer on big plays once the play has happened. I think the difference between our crowd and others like Denver, is just what the opening thread stated. We seem to cheer at the wrong time or the obvious situation. The only time I think they actually were on point, was when we pinned MIN at the goal line. That's an obvious situation to get loud. The rest is kinda weak.

Hey NYC, Where do you buy concreate? Where I'm from we can only get concrete? Is concreate a better product?:D

I couldn't disagree more. I was at the game too and the fans were awesome to us. We tailgated for 2 hours prior to the game in the gold parking area, million dollar RV's everywhere and the lot was packed with fans. Everyone was walking around meeting each other, throwing the football around, and eating and drinking. As we got to the stadium, we met some great fans and one group got us into the Miller Lite VIP Tailgating tent for free drinks and food. In the stands, we were surrounded by awesome fans and we had a blast. The noise was so loud when the Vikings Offense was on the field it was deafening but we keep it quiet in Texas Stadium when Romo is calling plays so our guys can hear. I never heard the announcer over the loud speakers at all the whole game becuase of the noise. I had an amazing time.

well first off i never said the fans were bad people and they don't know how to have fun....i had a great time and i was hanging in the vip-gate 9 section ....it ws great met alot of the players and coaches....what i was saying is not only the city doesnt advertise the cowboys enough but the stores all around the metroplex as well.....

the fans are spoiled for sure and expect to win all the time...the crowd was not loud at all.....trust me ....go to a giant or a Commander game ....you will see what i mean....

I disagree with this. Maybe it was just the stores you went to. But up there, it's all 'boys, all the time. On TV, on radio, in grocery stores, shopping malls everywhere. I've lived up there and in a pinch, I can go buy whatever Cowboys gear or trinket that I want within 5 mins.

Not sure what you expect to see. Maybe it's not tourist-friendly for out of town shoppers looking for 'boys gear.

Why would we want to be loud when Romo is calling audibles? Thats dumb. We were very loud when the vikes O was on the field. Maybe because Texas Stadium is alot smaller than those other stadiums you mentioned, is the reason it seemed to be quieter? Also I've heard that Giants and Skins pipe in fake crowd noise.

Its just not a loud crowd by nature. Now that we are winning more maybe tide turns. I have also read Dallas and many teams are now piping in canned crowd noice to distract opposing offenses....

Where did you read that? I haven't seen anything official except for what's going on in Washington at FedEx field.

I'd like to see anywhere that says Dallas is doing this. Can you link it or at least tell us where you read that?

I think Ty Law whispered it to him at a game once.

If Madden spit in the parking lot....well...you get the picture.

Right.

It's amazing how your story keeps evolving. When your personal observations weren't sufficient evidence, you suddenly reveal a series of mysterious player interviews conducted before and after the game that just happened to corroborate your retelling of events.

As I said earlier, Madden (even senile) > You
